Redknapp told BBC Sport: "These are two players whose names have been mentioned but at the moment we're not close to doing anything. Crouch's name came up in a meeting with the chairman but I don't think Stoke want to sell him.

"On Samba, again the chairman is dealing with this. At this stage I don't think that's a goer. I like Christopher Samba and he is a very good player but at this stage I don't see him leaving Russia. Things can changes but at this stage we're not close to doing anything."

Does the saggy faced old pcunt do ALL his business in the media?

Does it matter?
I was going to use the word "honest" - that might be going too far and stretching a point but he is open and that is refreshing in the "we are keeping our cards close to our chest" era.
He does tend to get deals done, for better or for worse.

The point is that tapping up is against the rules, and he has been proven to be crooked as fcuk, AND he stooped low enough to pretend not to know how to read and write in order to walk free from a prison sentence, jeez, do you forgive Ian Huntley as easily?

Are you saying old HArry is a multiple child killer?

I don't like the bloke - personally I think he embodies everything that's rotten with the football and media but even I wouldn't go that far.

So you think 'arry is the only manager who might talk about players from other clubs?
As RWC says Huntley is just a bit removed from 'arry.
Do you believe also that objectionables such as you and the Dog ought to be hung for being objectionable and melonhead and some of the others for being illiterate?
From this and other postings I feel that you really are a strange one and I'm glad you live a long way away-please let me know when you plan to be within 100 miles of Reading or Bournemouth-somehow it feels unclean to even have any sort of discussion with you.
Creepy or what?

Fair play to Jack Butland, a rare breed. Has turned down a move to Chelsea after Birmingham accepted a £3.5m bid, because he wouldn't play regularly.

Some might see it as a foolish and Cech probably doesn't have forever left in him, but if Butland wants to push into the England setup as the genuine no.2 to Hart, he has to be playing regular games.

SSN has become Balotelli News. It's like he has died, it's just become a huge tribute channel to a bloke who massively underachieved but paid for people's petrol

he'll be looking for a move to a bottom-half of the table team I'd have thought. Possibly thinks he's got a chance of nudging Hart out if he plays regularly enough.

Don't Chelsea have the lad at Atletico Madrid? He's meant to be pretty damn immense, whats the point in signing another young keeper? What they'd be better off doing is getting someone like Given or Friedel, someone towards the latter stage of their career who isn't too fussed about being sub for a year or two before they bring the other lad through. Cech's still got years left though really.

Butland looks made for Southampton in my opinion, they need a long term keeper and have a bit of money behind them. They'll bin Boruc and Davis at the end of the season if they stay up.

Yeah Chelsea have Courtis who is rated as possibly the best young keeper in the world, but there is talk that he wont come back to Chelsea as he doesn't want the reduced game time. Also Butland will count as a player trained in this nation and every team has to have at least 8 of them in the their 25man squad

Yeah just read that he failed his medical so Everton withdrew the offer and went back with a lower figure

He injured his knee in September and was out for a couple of months. The medical has shown a potential problem with the knee so Everton have tried to restructure the deal based on appearances, although still for the full agreed transfer figure. FC Twente said 'no, sod off', basically.

Kirsty Gallagher calls Balotelli a 'colourful character'.

Racist.
