Mr Optimist Charlton seemed to have slipped in to the role of lower league underdog quite nicely and very quickly.

Taking 9,000 to Old Trafford for a league cup game, being more than they get for home games now, and when they don’t take 300 to a northern away game in League One.

Singing cringy songs like “is this a library”, “shall we sing a song for you”, “we forgot that you were here” etc when they were only playing United regularly in the premier league just over ten years ago….

I hope they took their 3-0 beating in good underdog spirit with a nice patronising metaphorical pat on the head from the media.

I mentioned this on the TB about Reading's upcoming trip.

URZZZZ Surely Rodgers has to be on thin ice. Said 12 months ago that he was lucky to still be in a job and they haven’t got better

It’s a team devoid of fight and character. Feel for him to an extent because it’s clear he’s had limited investment but there’s no signs of sustained improvement whatsoever

He had earned the credit that kept him in a job last season, successive 5th place finishes and a cup win for a club of Leicester's size is a terrific achievement, whatever their end of season form and missing the CL spots. Limited investment rather curtails any hope of sustained improvement - the board needs to decide if they want to back a new manager with funds. If not, they probably won't be able to find a better manager and coach than they already have.

I'm not sure defeat at St. James' Park makes his position worse - only Liverpool and City have won there since Howe took charge.

My only real question of Rodgers is what Soyuncu has done to offend him. For me Leicester's stand-out defender, but he doesn't play. Vardy's relative lack of potency this season has hindered Leicester, and Patson Daka has been disappointing.

Soyuncu is a most unreliable defender IMHO-despite his physique he isn't that strong at in -the-air defending and is a very risky passer of the ball.
Apart from his nightmare at Anfield, Faes has been quite steady this season .

The red boards make the place look awful on telly. If I was designing a stadium I would put thought into what could be seen on telly

(I am aware this makes me unintentionally sound like I want disableds hidden from sight  )

They were bloody terrible in the 1st half, better with the big guns on but still can’t remember a shot on target in either half.

Still everyone’s fave for the PL but if Arsenal can do some quality strengthening this month and if Odegaard stays fit.....

Foden’s form has disappeared
Alverez looks like he’s still recovering from the celebrations
Phillips looks out of his depth
Gomez … are we sure he’s a footballer
As for the keeper ….

It’s Arsenal’s to lose if this is the state of City’s backup

Tbf Arsenal’s backups are no better, struggled to get past Oxford until they brought on the likes of Xhaka and Zinchenko. It was telling that Arteta only made 1 sub against Newcastle last week (a RB) as he had little else to bring on. A couple of injuries in midfield especially will leave them in trouble

Think City have been off it for a few months now. Just 5 goals in their last 7 away games in all competitions (3 of those being in one game against Leeds). Drew at home to Everton and lost at home to Brentford in that time. Even at the start of the season, I didn’t think they were playing as well as was being made out, with Haaland seemingly finishing everything

Tough next 6/7 games with United away, Tottenham twice before a trip to the Emirates but we all know that City are capable of monster runs and if they get ahead of Arsenal, can’t seem them relinquishing the lead

How did Kepa ever cost 70 mill. He cannot cope with crosses in any shape or form. He is absolute shyte.
I'm feeling for Potter, surrounded by utter crap of a team, injuries or not, that squad is massive and useless.
