leon West Ham look terrible.

Yep, just not sure who is the more terrible out of them or Leeds. Can't really see today's bottom three changing any time soon.

VAR shambles

Edit - reading Dale Johnsons tweets he says no var shambles but obv confusion as var can only correct a mistake so had to wait for the ref to send off Ziyech before telling him he shouldn't send off Ziyech

He needs to leave. That club is toxic. I don't blame him for their demise.....I think pressure from the fans and a brainless owner throwing money where it's not needed is gonna end badly. The squad is bloated, lobpsided and the signings look average. Arsenal dodged an expensive bullet with Mudryk, Trossard is a way better player and cost way less.

Finer details make up the opportunity to win silverware. I thought Newcastle gave it a good go but Shaw put in a superb freekick for the opener and Trippier didn’t quite hit the same levels. Second goal fell nicely for United whereas it never really fell all game for Newcastle

as much as I hate Chelsea, I feel sorry for Potter (youngish, English manager, managing in the Premierdonnaship) Potter is a good footballing manager.

Proved his credentials at a team in Brighton, losing it at a team full of prima-donnas at Chelsea.

Hoped for better for him.

If Potter gets sacked, he'll be a shoe in for the first decent job that comes up.

Agree. Someone will get themselves a decent manager.

There is obviously just a lot of upheaval at the club, I think most managers would have struggled but I do quite like the signings they've made and in a couple of seasons I think Chelsea could be successful, but I just don't think Potter is the right man, but then again I'm not sure who would in his scenario, I think you could have put virtually anyone in that job and they'd have struggled. Probably the wrong time for him to move honestly.

Would get a job elsewhere though. I'd imagine someone like Leicester would look at him as a successor for Brendan Rodgers, or pretty much most teams outside the top 6/7 clubs would hire him.

Potter gets sacked. You are the Leicester or West Ham chairman. What do you do?

With £15m in the bank from compo, i would imagine Potter would take some time out, rest up with family and then look to go again in the summer.

A number of Premier League Clubs have managers on short term contracts in place - id be looking at them clubs to make a move if they stay up.

Without hesitation go for it.

Him & Leicetser feels like a good fit. I can't explain why.

I think he will go back to Brighton eventually. I know the new Brighton manager has done ok since coming in but he strikes me as the sort who won't last too long. Can see Potter sitting it out for a while and going back there when the job is available.

Potter may opt to go abroad having done it before. Would be good to see a British manager have a go in another of the big 5 leagues

I just think Potter has got no control over Chelsea. Not his signings, cant control infrastructure, not his support team = instant failure. Genuinely cannot see things changing at Chelsea anytime soon. Potter had it all at Brighton, will need a similar mindset at a new club in the future.

Playing styles for me, him and Rodgers are similar-ish to how they play, they prefer to play with the ball and that's what Leicester's players have been used to for a few seasons now.

I'd agree it would be decent to see him go abroad and do something elsewhere in Germany or possibly Spain.

Depends how quickly the clubs want success

In the end, transformed Brighton into a fairly industrious, rigid style under Hughton to a free flowing style easy on the eye. But it came at a consequence of finishing 15th and then 16th in his first two seasons. Not all fanbases are so patient

Although I think Chelsea would be mad to sack him at his stage anyway. Write the season off and start again next season. Similar alarm bells for Arteta a couple of years back I’m sure?
