Royal Rother Great game this Chelsea v City.

Haaland’s assist from his own cock.

The first half was good. Dodgy pen for City (again)

Indeed. Mentioned before that I’m really not a fan of watching City but those 10-15% of games where teams (successfully) take them on and don’t sit deep produce excellent spectacles (similar to the 3-3 draw at Newcastle last season)

Sterling was terrific for Chelsea, and his current form should be enough to get him in the England squad next summer, but consistency is a huge downfall of his

As a side note, and perhaps someone more intelligent can explain, but why did the referee blow up so early? 8 minutes of time given, 4 minutes of that for the penalty, another minute for Sterling’s bad tackle, should have taken it to 102/103 minutes but he blew just after 100? Pochettino rightly furious at the end

And we won 8) .

Up to sixth, within four points of Villa. Just hope our success in Europe does not derail us.

Stupid admin error. Aiden Marsh was on loan at York City at the time of the first round match, but back at Barnsley in time for the replay, in which he played. Rule is that only players eligible for the original fixture can play in the replay.

Go on Horsham! Winnable game against Sutton.

I continue to be baffled why so many clubs make the basic error of having the away fans positioned right where they will be centre of the tv picture when the home team scores.

Spurs must be absolutely kicking themselves if they do end up losing to Villa here given how the game has gone.

Yes, but for the neutral it was a terrific game to watch. 2 very good footballing teams.

Spurs are always on the front foot, too many times just one foot too many.

Certainly think their injury situation and lack of a real, potent number 9 cost them today, they could have comfortably had 5/6 otherwise. They missed some big chances throughout.

YorkshireRoyal99 Whoever said Aston Villa might be a candidate for the top 4 this season doesn't watch football correctly.

Still sticking with this?

See Spurs are back to their usual run of form

Yes. Probably a bit harsh at the time to say not a candidate, but still won't finish there.

Despite the result today, I don't think they are good enough on the road in general, but for a lack of conviction from Spurs they could have been handed another heavy defeat and they've had a couple of those at the better sides away from home (Liverpool and Newcastle).

Proper injury crisis for Spurs though. Missing their first choice CB pairing and their 1st choice midfield trio. Nearly a 2nd XI. I knew their squad wasn't deep, but I thought they may get away with it given the lack of European football.

They haven't had the luck with injuries and I think we'll see a drop off until they start getting players back. City will be licking their lips.
