Wantage Town 1-1 Oxford City Nomads
HELL1E

Newbury 1-4 Thame United - Thame stay 15 pts clear of Wok & Emm
Woodley Town 1-2 Wokingham & Emmbrook att:141 - Wokkers firming up their chances of R-Up spot though, chasing pack are still 6 pts behind, only 5 games left to Wok & Emm's 7
Me and The Lad popped over to Charvil for this one played in bright Spring sunshine - though was a bit blowy at times.
Nice big turnout too - Wok & Emm. were pressed hard but had the better firepower in Bland - sublime low drive into the bottom corner for the first and manager's son (Shaun) W@nklyn ( its NOT a rude word  ) scoop/looped a volley into the top corner for the winner for the 2nd. Woodley tried hard but only had a bobbly (og) from a whipped free-kick as reward. Got it to 1-1 midway 2nd half.
Pitch was atrocious even for this level hard and very uneven/weedy.

WESS1
AFC Aldermaston 1-1 Warminster Town - :D :D :D They've FINALLY DONE IT! A point at last - they came so close on Thursday and now can breathe a big sigh! .... and wouldn't you just know it - Shaftesbury a massive 8 points above them this AM actually managed to win again 3-2 v E.Cowes.
The bottom three sides in this division have conceded a massive 424 goals between them with a cumulative GD of -290. It would be worse but Andover New Street who are 3rd bottom with a staggering 29 points have themselves scored over 70 goals this season - definitely the league for goalfests! 8)

Fleet Spurs 5-1 AFC Portchester
Petersfield Town 2-1 Farnborough North End
Tadley Calleva 5-1 Andover New Street

PS Missed 'The Last Post' from At-Spizz - sorry - whilst typing this epic - actually AFC had lost their first 33 matches this season. they have 6 matches left to get some more pride back - maybe even a win - best chance should be against Shaftesbury on the 21st.

no worries mate..just glad to be there to see it, and couldn't believe that Aldermaston have been so bad all season.

Can actually see them having enough about them (given the recent improvements and todays's performance) not to finish bottom....and that'd be some achievement

Thoroughly enjoyable game down at Totton this afternoon. As for the suspected broken leg, it was the W&E #15 Matt Seedell who had only been on the pitch 15 minutes or so having come on for Jake Parsons.

Windsor's keeper made one very good save from a free kick in the 5th minute and was called upon about 15 minutes from the end of the second half. I honestly cannot recall too many Royalists efforts on target.

And the real highlight? Some Totton chavs nicking a great big Windsor flag during the first half. As for the supporters who went by train, they left Slough at about 9.00 this morning!

What happened with the flag in the end? Did the Windsor mob reclaim it?

On the WEFC forum someone just posted that Martin Williams made a cameo appearance!! I find that extremely hard to believe as he's not been with the club all season (injured and retired I thought) and also because you'd have been sure to mention it if he'd come on. Perhaps the guy meant Marcus Richardson - could you just clear that one up for me?

the shots gain a valuable point at port vale....that last automatic promotion spot now up for grabs: the play off's a more realistic proposition, but it does worry me..given the finances and the infrastructure, could it be a promotion too far?

They got the flag back  And yes, Martin Williams did come on. I wouldnt have called it a cameo though. Marcus Richardson came on for Nathan Jack and won a couple of headers.

Playing Richardson and Williams at the same time may have been a cunning plan on Scott's part, thinking that the extra poundage carried by those 2 might fcuk up their pitch for the final run-in.

Richardson is a V E R Y B I G U N I T! On one mazy run, one inebriated Royalist did refer to him as Messi! As for Martin Williams, had he moved any faster might have got out of neutral. Mobile he isn't! I think it was a tactic of the Colonel to block any gaps on the pitch.

All in all, a game where both defences were pretty much in control.

Actually went down to the Reading Town-Almondsbury game - very enjoyable.

Almondsbury really should have been down to 10 men for the last hour after their number 9 decided to kick a Reading centre half as hard as he could off the ball down the back of his legs. Ref gave a yellow in a situation where it was either a red card or a I didn't see it you lucky boy situation.

Reading created the most chances and took the lead but seemed content to then try and hang on, sloppy equaliser conceded and then they were hanging on a bit in the end.

Oh - my - God.

W&E lose to lowly Bishops Cleeve whilst Totton win again.

19 point lead to a 5 point deficit in 6 short weeks. That is some turnaround.

If we win all our games left we still win but with points on the board Totton have to be favourites now.

.... both contenders for the Hellenic Premier Title lost in Cup ties this evening.

Almondsbury Town were beaten 2-1 aet by Slimbridge in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup Semi Final - Slimbridge now play the winners of the 2nd semi due to be played this Thursday between Abingdon Town and Ardley Utd

RTFC were thrashed 6-2 by Newport Pagnell Town in the repeat of last season's B&B Trophy Final - this time played at Chesham Utd's ground. (RTFC won 2-0 last year)

'The Almonds' play at Pegasus in the league on Thursday. Should they win there then a point @ home vs RTFC on Saturday, would leave them needing 1 more point for the title from 4 remaining games - all against mid-low table sides.
Before Easter even an understandably tired Almondsbury, would have expected something out of Pegasus - their recent home form since Xmas has been dismal - BUT a chink of light for the Scours lads - Pegasus have won their most recent two home games 2-1 and 6-2.

In the league:
Hellenic Prem
Wantage 3-0 Marlow Utd
Div One East
Kintbury 2-1 Newbury
Wokingham & Emmbrook 2-0 Milton

elsewhere in the Southern league:-
Premier
Farnborough 3-0 Banbury (played Monday)
Div One Midland
Burnham 1-1 Slough att : 507
Marlow 1-1 Chesham
Div One South & West
AFC Totton 3-1 Hungerford
Abingdon Utd 3-2 Mangotsfield
Bedfont Gn 0-2 N.Leigh
Uxbridge 3-1 Bracknell - Uxbridge were playing their 2nd game in 2 days - they'd won 4-0 @ AFC Hayes (1 place above The Robins) on Monday night.

Wessex League - Premier
Bournemouth 2-7 Poole Town - Poole win big at the side in 4th place and are confirmed as Champions for the 2nd yr running - now on 99 pts with 4 games left.
... a bit nearer - 3 of our 'local' Div one clubs played
Farnborough North End lost 0-3 @ Portchester
Fleet Spurs 6-1 E.Cowes Vics
US Portsmouth 3-0 Tadley

... tomorrow night (Wed) the now notorious AFC Aldermaston seek to increase their 1 point tally with a home game vs 8th placed Petersfield Town.
The score was 9-1 when the clubs last met in early February!
:?

Oh and just for completeness in the Conf South:
Hampton & R 2-1 Chelmsford
Maidenhead 1-2 Woking

For anyone interested Farnborough have a home game Saturday against Swindon Supermarine and the entrance fee is any donation you wish to make at the turnstile. A good opportunity to see the league leaders as they close in (hopefully) on the title and promotion to the conference south.

... Farnborough won again tonight (3-0 vs 3rd place Brackley) now 12 pts clear of Nuneaton who have 6 games left, to 'boro's 4.

Elsewhere AFC Aldermaston's season goes from strength to strength 8) - I've just read that ....... they WON tonight 2-1 vs Petersfield  :P

... unless of course they missed off a digit from the away teams' goals? :?

I managed to 'sneak' out and up the M4 a short way to watch:
Eton Wick 1-3 Holyport - in Hellenic Div One East.
Attendance: 71 (I never counted more than about 30 actually watching)
Admission : by programme/donation @ the bar.
Was a spirited effort but Holyport were a bit too strong up front for The Wick.
Nice semi-rural setting in the 'wetlands' of the Thames around Dorney/Boveney reaches. Windsor Castle looms large on the horizon there and is quite spectacular as it gets lit up in the deepening Dusk - oooh I'm sounding a bit like that well know Poet Laureate and Roofing Engineer - Sir John Bitumen!
Good comfy bar they've got there too.
No floodlights so it was supposed to kick off about 18:30h - I think it may have been a bit late starting - M4 was £*($@d as usual in both directions  - game finished in near darkness at about 20:20h.

And after last nights 3.0 over Brackley Saturday could seal it for Farnborough really

Yeh with Nuneaton drawing against Leamington the other day, a Nuneaton draw or loss at second bottom Clevedon coupled with a Boro win will promote Boro as champions.
