Royalclapper Went to Ajax once in the home end of the Arena and it was cold enough to make your piss solid.

It can certainly get bloody cold in Holland.

I went to a match at NEC Nijmegen. I don't know how cold it was, but on the way in the train passed a small lake. There were people skating on it.

Fellows Park circa 1983 - my hands were so cold I could barely eat my burger at half time

Southampton away 2009(?) around Christmas time with a late Shane Long equaliser.

My mate wore brogues with no socks (I know) and I had to have two attempts at going to the gents in the space of 5 minutes as the cold temperature affected my first attempt so much.

Franchise FC
Royality creeps In Who remembers Port Vale away. Last game of the season (1980's?) on the open terrace. It snowed.

May 10th 1979 - last game of the 11 match run without conceding a goal - the day we won the Division 4 title

No - can't remember that one

Yes! I think we had four seasons in ninety minutes.

A mid 1980's evening game in mid February at Leeds Road, Huddersfield's old ground; that was perishingly cold.

Also in the 80's, when Bristol City had an open terrace, the sleet came in horizontally (Senior missed a penalty and we lost); my hands were so cold it took a while for me to be able to turn the ignition key!

Funnily enough the Nou Camp for an evening game, when on the top tier, was absolutely freezing in about April. Not to be recommended without a very warm coat.

Ah, the game where Blakey had a perfectly good headed goal not given by Steve Bennett the Kent ref.... Also remember from the home end laughing at those of you in the away end in the rain that were given these plastic macs! That away end is without doubt the shittest part of the ground, it doesn't look finished!

The game there that I saw against Chesterfield a couple of months ago was worse though, mainly down to the bitter wind, not helped by sitting near the front of the stand opposite the dugouts, probably the worst place I could possibly have been.
