TheMaraudingDog The biggest surprise here is that United’s season ticket ‘renewal deadline’ is June 14th. Poor timing from the club to let such information out just before they push everyone for £££

Graham Hunter said this was a done deal a year ago.

Do you think there is a possibility that it may indeed have been a "done deal" at the time and that the clubs reached a behind-the-scenes agreement that he would play one last season at Man Utd?

But surely, for every Utd fan that doesn't renew, there is another 1 in the waiting???

Madrid have been saying for ages that they have had an agreement in place since last sumer to buy him. Some ridiculous level of compensation to be paid if they didn't do it. allegedly.

So I'm guessing then that you followed him up and down the Country as opposed to watching him on TV round your mate's or in a Pub on your fat arse?

Sure, the best player in the Premiership has joined a bigger club, abroad.
Be also sure that the Portuguese player will say that it be a dream move for him, and yes, if you are bothered about the prestige of the Premiership being slightly tarnished by this 'loss', then yes again you might have a point.
But a dagger through the heart of the English game, no way Jose.
No problem, but we have always watched him on TV, and you can continue to do so.

£40 million was one compensation figure quoted. Cheaper to buy him.

Or depending on where you read,£20m to Ronaldo if it fell through. Not a bad deal for Ronaldo. Heads he wins, tails he wins even more.

Exactly, no bullish Ferguson this pre-season.

Now all we need is Barca to take Mascherano from Liverpool to prove La Liga will shine as the dominant force

If Masherano leaves that would be a massive step backwards for LIverpool.
They still have the best striker in Europe though, if fit.
