Good oh......we MUST win the group!! Oh can I also bring up the England Cricket team/ German football team comparisons seeing as they have 2 Poles, a Turk and a Brazilian in their team!

Germany are playing like Brazil. Chipped balls, hitting the lines, one touch passing, not afraid to play it backwards, marauding wing-backs...

Course, it's only the Aussies...

Well this a challenge well and truely laid down to all by Germany. A near perfect display of football. Could quite easily be 8-0.

Ozil absolutely everywhere for Germany (and funny how, after getting booked for diving after no contact at all, he chose to stay upright after charging into the box and losing possession under minimal contact later on)

Aussies have to be concerned about the final margin here, what with goal-difference looming as a possible determinant of who gets to play on

Thing is, I'm not a great deal more confident should we meet Ghana in the second round instead of Germany.

Just at a glance, it occurs that Die Mannschaft may be more ethnically diverse than my own national side :|

It'll be interesting to see if Serbia stick a man on Ozil. I'm looking forward to all the games in this group.

Whilst it was a very impressive performance from Germany, how often does a team that comes flying out of the blocks in a tournament end up running out of steam? Remember Argentina's demolition of a team in 2006 (think it was 6-0).

Probably clutching at straws but you never know...

It was only an off form Australia (a team who struggled to a 2-1 win over the footballing powerhouse New Zealand).

Finally an excellent performance. Ozil was superb but so was the entire German team. Great passing, movement, crossing, finishing. And I got my goals :D

World Cup 2002
Germany 8-0 Saudi Arabia

Final position, Runner up losing 2-0 to Brazil minus inspirational Ballack who was suspended for the final.

Not done to shabby in the world cup either

Serbia and Montenegro I think - watched it on my work laptop IIRC

I don't think a big win is ever a bad thing really but I'd reserve judgement on Germany - that's there easiest game of the tournament out of the way. Played very well though.
