If his foot was less bulked up with hydrogenated fat he wouldn't have got such a solid connection with the ball and it would have dropped over the keeper and in

What about the two he spaffed into the wall with all the skill of Barry Hunter? Tbf, at least his goal-that-never-was will ensure that an otherwise unmemorable international career will be remembered for something.

Of Frank's shots (free kicks or otherwise) I recall one in, one crossbar, one on target and saved, two into the wall. Probably some others I've forgotten, but by contrast with all his team-mates (put together, really) that's not bad.

Nah, wasn't Gerrard. Can't remember who it was now to be fair. I'll have to dig the Daily Mail out again.

Presuming it was Ashley Cole, he was the player to make the least amount of errors

Lampard was pretty atrocious the only redeeming part of his performance being that this world cup he actually got some shots on target and "scored" a goal. Plenty of worse players for us though.
