With Conte coming in, we really do have some world class football managers in this country making it the best league in the world.

Which decent managers are missing? Zidane, Erik Ten Hag, Julien Nagelsmen?

Jury very much out on Zidane, think he needs to do it at another club to prove his managerial ability. Obviously in terms of name value he's right up there.

NathStPaul Be hard pressed to get them as high as Ismael did, losing Brian Mowett really killed them. No creativity at all in their side and there are a lot of games between now and Januray. By the time they can get players in it might be too late for them.

Losing Alex Mowatt was a big
blow too :D

Who the oxf*rd is Brian Mowett?????

A combination of brian howard and alex mowett?

Thought he was OK, just not quite a McDermott type player

Saying that, the trio of him, Tabb and Sigurdsson really clicked for half a season, absolutely joy to watch

NathStPaul Barnsley sack Markus Schopp. Lost their last 7 games and are in a Lidl bit of danger of being relegated.

Very nice use of Lidl

Always remembered for his goal in the crazy FA Cup replay with WBA.

He looks delighted.....

Great appointment though. I think a few Spurs players are going to be in for an almighty shock to the system.

Conte is a decent manager but I can see it following a similar path to how it did with Mourinho, given Conte’s methods in that there will be success to a point but it’s likely to fade away

Let’s not forget that Chelsea under Conte went from winning the league in his first season to not even making the top four in the second, apparently alienated a fair few members of the squad

Nuno’s stock surely taken a hit, not just because of what happened at Spurs but because of how much Wolves seemed to have improved since his departure

In hindsight, he should probably have taken the Everton/Palace job in the summer which at least would have provided more security

Conte is an elite level manager who wins things, Spurs are very lucky to have him.

He is on an 18 month contract, if things do go wrong then there is no long term commitment there. Win/win for Spurs imo.

Unai Emery looking odds on for Newcastle. Strange choice, decent record in Spain, awful everywhere else.

I think he'd be a decent appointment if a bit unspectacular. He will certainly tighten them up a bit at the back and pick up points to lift them up the league, will attract a fairly decent standard of player too.

With his record he's got to be a decent coach, but his English-language communication skills seem really poor. TBF there's probably more Spanish-speakers there than Geordies, but he's always struck me as one of those managers who would bore the absolute shit out of you, player or supporter.

Excellent appointment by Spurs - another world class manager coming to the Premier League - it really is the best in the world. I think he will totally rejuvenate Spurs and clearly is going to be backed in the next 2 transfer windows.

Now Barnsley have Aldi out of work managers to choose from.
