Not one that many may not be interested in but it is my non league club.

Marine FC have announced plans to build a new stadium on the outskirts of Crosby.

https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/marine-reveal-exciting-plans-new-30924119

Their current ground has zero scope for redevelopment as it is enclosed on 3 sides by housing.

The new stadium will have access to the by-pass on the edge of a new housing estate that is currently being built.

I think its great that they.re planning to keep the old ground as a community hub as it's in the heart of Crosby and the Social Club/Bistro is busy every night. Its a financial goldmine for the club.

Oxford United and Firoka Group sign short-term Kassam Stadium extension.

Existing license agreement due to expire in June 2026
Short-term extension for a maximum of two further years
Option on second year conditional on new stadium planning approval
Parties confirm no further extensions are possible
Club places on record thanks to Firoka Group & Firoz Kassam
Oxford United and Firoka Group can confirm that they have signed a short-term extension of their license agreement, enabling the Club to remain at the Kassam Stadium for a maximum of two additional seasons.

The existing license, which was due to expire in June 2026, will now run for at least one additional year, with an option to extend for a maximum of one more year thereafter conditional on planning for the Club’s proposed new stadium being approved. Following this, no further extensions or new lease agreements will be possible.

Oxford United would like to place on record its thanks to Firoka Group and Firoz Kassam for agreeing this extension, allowing the Club to focus on delivering its new, sustainable home at the Triangle.

Grant Ferguson, Chairman of Oxford United, said: “The Club was facing some very difficult decisions on where to play after our licence expired in June 2026 and before our new stadium is ready.

“There has been a massive amount of work going on behind the scenes to get us to this point, and I would like to place on record my thanks to Firoz Kassam who personally oversaw the discussions which led to this short-term extension being signed.

“Agreeing this goes well beyond the terms of our existing arrangement and demonstrates Firoz’s support for the Club, particularly given this could potentially delay his plans for the site. We can now move forward with certainty as both parties look to the future.”

Firoz Kassam stated: “Oxford United have been a hugely important part of my life for over 25 years, but now is the right time for all of us to look to the next chapter.

“Agreeing to this extension allows Firoka Group to focus on developing the wider site for local people and the city of Oxford, whilst providing the Club with clarity in the short-term. It’s now up to others to approve planning to guarantee Oxford United’s long-term future.”

A decision on the new, 16,000 seat Oxford ground will be made in June; consultations will run until May 25th.

Still not a definite, but they should get planning permission, especially as it is very close to Oxford Parkway station, so will reduce traffic coming to the site.

Parkway? That’s practically in Kidlington isn’t it?

Just seen a comment that it's effectively a divorce. The men have to move out and the women get to keep the home.

Nice! Went and looked at it a few years ago, will be beautiful when it's completed. The Mestalla is big, but properly showing its age.

Would actually love to see a Levante match. Their Estadi Ciutat de València is a lovely looking old-school ground in a nice part of Valencia. Doesn't look to have changed in the 50-odd years since it was built.

A decision on Oxford United's new stadium plans has been delayed after a nearby woodland was designated as ancient.

Cherwell District Council was due to review an application for a 16,000-seat venue on land known as the Triangle, near Kidlington, on 31 July.

But the local authority said it required further time after Natural England identified an area of ancient woodland near the site, and said its planning committee would now consider the application on 14 August.

The club said it was "disappointed" with the delay.

Development director at Oxford United Jonathon Clarke said it the last-minute submission was "frustrating".

"However, we have provided comprehensive evidence addressing the points raised," he said, adding it was "an incredibly detailed, robust application".

"We will continue our work towards a positive recommendation as we await a new committee date."

The planning application has faced several delays since its submission.

The council said the designation required "a further period of time to ensure the robust consideration of those matters" and incorporate them into its recommendation report.

Natural England previously said its woodland specialists had "found that there has been sufficient evidence submitted to support this site as ancient woodland".

But it added that it would be willing to "consider further substantively different evidence" in this particular case.

Anneliese Dodds, MP for Oxford East, said she was "disappointed" by the delayed decision, and that the club, its fans and the county "need this stadium for the benefits it will bring".

"A positive decision is crucial, as more delays could have a catastrophic impact on the club," she added.

Went to Sardinia for a week and whilst visiting the capital Cagliari, had a look at their stadium(s).

Turns out they left Stadio Sant'Elia in 2012 after a dispute with the council. 41,000 capacity, it was one of the twelve Italia 90 stadia, England played all their group games there. You can still see the Italia 90 logo on the white structure in the foreground. Looks great from the outside.

Played their final home matches for 2011-12 in Trieste on the mainland close to the Slovenian border.

Now playing next door in the, very temporary looking, Unipol Domus. 16,416 capacity

This could as easily live in "Clubs in Crisis" The North Stand of Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough ground has been closed by the city council amid safety concerns about its structural integrity.
