In most games it looks now as though he is saving some of his energy for the Irish bird.
In yesterday's paper a story headline was "Frank wants babies" so it might not be long before we see Frank Lampard junior junior (that family doesn't have much imagination) weighing in at a meaty 13lb or so-poor Christine.

Poor Frank. Hauled off because he was unfit.

Great assist for their first goal as well. Not content with giving the ball away he then committed the foul which resulted in the free kick they scored from.

Poor penalty too, but then he was probably a little tired by then.

In some ways I hope that's the end of Lampards England career. He had a spell as an excellent goalscoring midfielder but I really think his time has now passed.

Any penalty that's scored is a good penalty

That really was an awful penalty, how the keeper failed to get enough on it to stop it I have no idea... I don't think he could have got that close to it and still let it in if he knew exactly where it was going and he'd been trying to.

Dunno what that plastic paddy is doing on there anyway. Not good enough for England? Go and play for Ireland, oxf*rd off.

LOL @ him having a pop at Joe Hart for the 2nd, what Andy Townsend knows about goalkeeping you could fit on the back of a pack of Swan Vestas.

And I bet the sad thing is you were praying he would miss it. Don't say you didn't. Cos you're a cock knocker of the highest order.

Rattled m8?

A Lampard pen for England is win-win. If he he scores, it is good news for England. If he misses, then Lampard looks a chump. Win-win scenario.

Lampard, Terry, Milner and the rest of the old guard should have been dumped straight after our humiliating exit from the World Cup last Year; the Euro's should have been used as a way of bedding in new, younger players into the side of which Wilshire is but 1, in preparation for Brazil in 2014. Instead, Cappello (who is a busted flush) will continue to play the same old same old.

You can change too much too soon though, although I'd agree with the aim of a total refresh of the squad over the next couple of years.

Milner is hardly old guard though and I think he's the type of player who can play an importantly role for the side over the next few years at least. He's capable of playing all over the place and (apart from when standing in the wall!!!) is a very reliable performer.

I can't see the point of keeping people like Barry and Lampard in the squad though. I suppose the argument is that the next generation of players just aren't ready yet and you can't through them all in together and expect them to prosper (see Jordan Hendersons performance in the friendly straight after the WC).

Personally I think Capello should've gone before any of the players.
