Just broke the news to Jnr II think he was looking for a slightly more sugar coated response than "you're rubbish and going down" when he asked why they'd sack him. But that's what he been saying to me for the last couple of weeks...

WRT Bielsa - what an incredible decision. The club has been fairly unlucky in terms of losing key players to injury and having poor recruitment in the last few windows.

Who are they going to get that's better? Also - i'd suggest maybe 2/3rds of the fan base were still behind him... Very odd.

Much like Sheff U in previous years they got promoted and played a system that nobody was used to seeing. In the first year up you beat a lot of 'better' teams. Then everyone works out how to counter act it and coupled with injuries, iffy recruitment and all of a sudden you're losing all the time. Biesla may be a really good coach and he's got more out of that group of players than anyone could have expected but once the whole league has worked out how to beat your team you have to be able to adapt the system. He refused to do that, if you're getting beaten all the time and you're asking the players to do exactly the same thing there's going to be a limit to how much you can motivate them no matter how much they like you.
Don't know how much of the lack of decent recruitment was down the board not coughing up the money, and really who can blame them after the last time they gambled everything for success, or Biesla wanting to stay loyal to the players who took them up.

Have to agree with the Newsthump headline: "Leeds get rid of the one likeable thing about their entire club."

If they stay up it will be talked about as a great and brave decision

If they go down it will be talked about as a stupid decision

Sean Dyche was the ONLY reason that non Burnley fans gave 2 monkeys about, or even considered, Burnley FC; this reminds me of Charlton sacking Curbishley all those years ago as they "wanted to go to the next level" - they did that all right!

At least Dyche won't be short of job offers come the end of the season.

Dyche has worked miracles for Burnley.

Their record signing is Ben Gibson for £15.2m in 2018.

Dead right about Curbishley .
Dyche has performed miracles in keeping them up each year and a definite case of "careful what you wish for".

Having said that, maybe the players (many having been there for quite a while) just aren't motivated by him any more or (more likely) despite what the owners might think just aren't good enough for the top level, e.g. Lowton, Lennon, Westwood etc..

Nothing is as bad as when Birmingham sacked their manager (Lee Clark maybe?) When they were in the playoffs or maybe even 2nd, and they got zola in

And then proceeded to win 1 game out of 18 and be shit for years

Burnley still have the chance to be shit for years under a new manager

I actually liked them, as I think most people did because they had Dyche

Even great managers need to move on eventually in most cases.

I reckon this will work out better for Dyche than Burnley though.
