Really? I actually think that's a damn good idea. When the Mad Stad was being planned the club paid lip service with a couple of meetings with the supporters club. I banged on relentlessly regarding getting the acoustics right in the new stadium - even suggesting that we leave the roof off the south stand.

I was obviously ignored.

If there was a way of amplifying home support and suppressing away support noise I'd be all for it at Reading.

OT is just too big to get any kind of consistent atmosphere. Went to Reading away in the home end, could barely see the Reading supporters and
defo couldn't hear them. Also saw Utd play Blackburn at OT and barely heard their fans when they scored.

I went to Galatasaray a few years back for a run-of-the-mill game, and it wasn't anything special to be honest.

It was better than our place, obviously, but I'd guess even there it's only really intense for the big games.

Yes, they're called supporters. Seriously, their stadium is very open, so if anything the noise shouldn't carry as well as it should in an enclosed stadium like ours. Having said that, Stoke fans aren't always noisy. It's mostly for the big games, as it is at most other clubs. I've been at the Brittania and you could hear a pin drop.
