NathStPaul Chris WIlder in at Watford. Shame really, would have liked him at Reading.

What’s that? Their 3rd or 4th manager this season? Surely that’s bringing the game into disrepute.

Think he genuinely loves the club, that is a plus I guess. Think pretty much from the start with Conte you could see there wasn't really that affinity with the supporters, he has never looked like he has enjoyed himself.

As long as the Spurs supporters are happy with finishing in the Champions League spots each season but not much more then I'm sure it will be fine. Levy just isn't going to fund a title push.

Spurs were absolutely fcuking dire tonight. Dire.

Crouch made a good point tonight on BT. Financials aside (and Spurs have plenty of money anyway), what's the point in prioritising the top four if you're just going to stink out the tournament anyway?

spurs will forever be bridesmaid and never the bride with levy and joe lewis there. They need an arab and about 500 million to be spent. until that happens they won't win or achieve anything

To be fair, they've spent a fair amount of money since Conte has been there and a little bit before as well, I wouldn't say they haven't invested anything, but something obviously still isn't right. Whether it's the manager, whether they've not bought the right players, or it might just be too much disdain towards the board etc.

Agreed-they have spent a lot so that excuse doesn't wash anymore.
They are a club like Villa, Everton etc. that over the years have done fairly well but just aren't for whatever reason, a top 2 o3 club.

Just because they have spent loads on their stadium doesn't automatically make them a top club-West Ham get similar crowds and Newcastle are not far behind but that means nothing other than having good revenue on matchdays.

They have spent a fortune on good/average players.

Where others are spending similar money on world stars.

Yep. Since they sold Bale they've bought the same players over and over again. Either average defensive midfielders or average wingers.

Reckon viera isn’t far off from getting the chop 3 points outside the drop and spent a fair bit.

Yeah he probably isn't to be honest, he was coming into question a couple of weeks ago as well. I doubt they will go down though, too many teams between them and the drop zone and I can't see them being one of the three despite their poor form. Got a decent run of fixtures after the next 2 games which will be pivotal (Leicester H, Leeds A, Southampton A).

Not sure who they'd get if they got rid of Viera though. Would they gamble on Gerrard or Lampard?

They really are paying the price for not investing in a striker. Any team that starts Jordan Ayew on a regular basis deserves to go down.

He works incredibly hard to be fair and when you consider the “luxuries” around him in Eze, Olise and Zaha, a bit of graft isn’t such a bad idea. The three aforementioned just haven’t been good enough and that’s their main problem

Talking to family yesterday about players and I mentioned that some time ago Reading were interested in both of the Ayew brothers.
Neither are up to much IMHO and I see that the other one missed an important penalty for Forest yesterday.
