Just watched MOTD and I have to say I'm absolutely perplexed by two things tonight that haven't even been mentioned by any of their commentators or pundits tonight:-

1) Bolton's winner is TWO YARDS offside in the build-up! Free kick comes in and is flicked on, at this point David Ngog is two yards beyond the second last defender and then jumps with Tim Howard to challenge for the ball. By jumping with Howard he has tried to gain an advantage from being in an offside position and interfered with play and is therefore offside, yet nobody even mentions it on the Beeb or, I am reliably informed, on the PL's worldwide feed. Are the experts really that blind?

2) Gareth Barry's second yellow - you see that type of challenge in the penalty area all the time and nothing gets given, yet 40 yards out it's a free kick and a yellow card? Now I'm of the firm belief that it is an infringement all day long as the player making the challenge never makes any attempt to play the ball, but why doesn't anything ever get said about this?

1) Just rewound it and you're right, but look at the lino and he's looking at Cahill and the pack of players

Yeah, I spotted 1) too, assumed there must've been some rule I was unfamiliar with for no-one to spot nor mention it.

Victor Meldrew I'm just about to watch your team destroy an over-rated Newcastle.

LOL. Pardew V Man Utd. Aside from a bomb blast there was never going to be satisfactory outcome for you was there?

Time is a great healer  and Pardew no longer features much in my thoughts other than when he and Pulis get mentioned as possibles for the England job.
BTW Newcastle's form of just 5 points from the last 24 going into the game was hardly something to fill the Geordies with glee but they stepped up on form last night and Man Utd took a big step backwards.
I do think Howard Webb needs to go on a training course on penalties (the non-penalty dive by Osman plus last night's nailed-on by Ferdinand both in the space of a few weeks).
