URZZZZ
NathStPaul They really are paying the price for not investing in a striker. Any team that starts Jordan Ayew on a regular basis deserves to go down.

He works incredibly hard to be fair and when you consider the “luxuries” around him in Eze, Olise and Zaha, a bit of graft isn’t such a bad idea. The three aforementioned just haven’t been good enough and that’s their main problem

Yeah he seemed to get a lot of praise from others for his work ethic and what he does for the team. He's not a prolific goascorer by any means but he can hold up well and his touches are neat as well.

To be fair to Palace, they've bought the likes of Edouard and Mateta, but similar issue to Ayew, they aren't prolific enough. Thought Neville was accurate speaking about Palace during the game, they seem to rely on individual moments of brilliance rather than consistently having someone who will hit the net.

Patrick Viera out at Selhurst, the bottom of the Prem looks a lot closer than normal this year so I wouldn't surprised if he's not the last

He has a pretty dismal record as a manager, surprised he got the Palace job in the first place tbh.

Hodgson favourite. Can see him coming in till the end of the season to keep them up. Dunno where they go from there though. Will Still?

Did you know he hasn't got the right coaching qualification and Reims get fined £22,000 after each game?

I hadn't heard that, no. I hope they're on some kind of unbeaten run to make it worth it.

Sounds made up but I have also heard he can speak to the players in French and English fluently.

Don’t get that, you can either manage/coach a team reasonably well or you can’t therefore why should any club be penalised if they have a manager without the right bit of paper, no one’s going lose their life cos he hasn’t passed an exam so it’s not like doctoring or being an electrician.

Mid to late March is far too late to make such a big change. Roy coming out of his care home to mumble; sorry, inspire, a toothless Palace side, seems to be just as much of a gamble as leaving Viera in charge.

I thought they got rid of Hodgson to move away from his style of play so they could incorporate a more fluid, possession-based system that offered more entertainment? Seems a bit counter-intuitive to go back to what you didn't want before, particularly with different players.

They'd have been better off sticking with Vieira. Either that or looking to get a manager with a similar ethos that can just tinker with what they've got. They aren't a poor side and have some good, talented, technical players, they just need a bit of belief and confidence.

I feel Viera's been a little unlucky in terms of the recent fixture list.

Their last 11 games has seen them play Man City (2nd), Man Utd x2 (3rd), Spurs (4th), Newcastle (5th), Liverpool (6th), Brighton x2 (7th), Brentford (8th), Chelsea (10th) and Villa (11th). That's an average position of 6th over 11 matches.

I'm pretty sure they have more than enough to pick up the required points with a much easier set of games as a run in but have basically panicked.

Conte doing his very best to get an entry into this thread with his post match rant. Criticises the players and the club, says they want life easy and don't want any pressure. 'This is Tottenhams story. 20 years with this owner and they never won something. Why?'
