I thought Ramarni Medford-Smith was at Bracknell, has he moved on already or is it a loan or one of those dual registration jobbies?

...sorry no idea - my iPad doesn't cope well with club sites and won't go anywhere nr Twitter, so can't find any kind of news about a move/sub-loan for him.
I did try and check the home clubs' tweets on another device but was no mention on there anyway.

I do know he played in Thatcham's recent win at Tooting & M so yesterday was his 2nd match for them.

....and tonight's game for Bracknell at Beaconsfield Town was not relocated due to ground issues at SB, as the 'Fizzers' are hosting bottom club Hillingdon Boro in a CCL-1 game there this evening.

-I hadn't picked up on the clash earlier and would have assumed 'Robins' might take 'preference' - but maybe the STEP03 fixture was easier to re-arrange/switch - with Holloways Pk being 3G ?

joined Thatcham in late October on an initial 1 month loan, so can only assume it's either been extended or made permanent.

Ta ... had a closer look back thru the team line-ups on 'fwebpages' and he (Medford-Smith) does indeed start to appear for Thatcham from mid-Oct onwards - so on or near 10 starts for them now.
- might see how many times he actually turned out for the 'Robins' before that - assuming he isn't/wasn't dual-registered?

Record attendance of 3,059 at Darlington for the visit of Scarborough Athletic yesterday - the renewal of an old Boxing Day local derby after many years.

...over 1,000 turn up this PM for a Wessex Premier game between Moneyfields and AFC Portchester - finished 3-3 only the second game this season that runaway leaders Porchester have dropped points.

Needs to be pointed out : it was played @ 'Money's' temporary lodging at The Westleigh (Havant & W.)

Their own ground off the main road down to Pompey is being upgraded/refurbed and isn't quite ready to be re-occupied yet.

...the cross-town Salisbury derby in the same division, between Laverstock & Bemerton attracted a crowd of over 400 but was abandoned around 25' when the one of the asst referees collapsed. Was treated by ground medical staff and seemed to be conscious whilst waiting for an ambulance.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
from this evening's games ..... Late news: Bracknell edge past Beaconsfield 3-2 - winner from Grant on 83'.
Sandhurst put 6 past Hillingdon in CCL-1
.... and Woodley bt Penn 2-0 at Scours earlier this PM?
'Heathens' progressed 0-2 at Scours on Thu night with a quick brace early in the 2nd half
- no crowd figure given that I've found yet - looks as if some changes were made to the standard line-ups and a fair number of subs were used - 'City' sounded disappointed to bow out of the Challenge up - but have had a great start to the season so far.
- next in action on Monday 12:30 KO H v Virginia Water
(I'll post the preview for the BH fixtures up later)
...here's tomorrow's fixtures (NYD) just the top of the Pyramid involved (Vanarama National Leagues)
- and as was traditional in olden-times across the leagues - Boxing Day Fixtures reversed:
Sunday 1st Jan (NYD)
Maidenhead United v Wealdstone
Woking v Aldershot Town segregated : away ends SOLD OUT – tickets available on line in advance to 12:00h on 01/01
Actually a bit hacked off with the lack of any non league games today, given that games at this time of year are largely local derbies why couldn’t the games have been spread across all three days - be good for ground hopping too.
Sutekh ....., given that games at this time of year are largely local derbies why couldn’t the games have been spread across all three days - be good for ground hopping too.
.... would need to look back (due to ever more decrepit memory these days) but not sure there have ever been that many NYE games scheduled in recent times in NL.
There were actually a few 'Sussex' Dorset and South West League Games scheduled for today - as well as a few oop Norfth - but I think a lot fell foul of the wet weather. An SCL-2 (fka-Sussex League) did take place but had to be moved to the 3G at Steyning from Storrington - the other three fixtures were washed out.
The lower level leagues tend to avoid NYD too - probably due to the likelihood of over indulgence of players down at those 'steps'?
I'm sure I've posted before about a particularly unedifying clash at the old Yateley Utd ground out on the main road past Eversley. Probably Surrey Intermediate League - where the two sides concerned fielded squads who in the main were 'worse for wear' for an 11:00 KO - so much so it was well beyond 70 mins when we saw the first header and there were precious few proper tackles up to that point.
...at least three players 'retired ill' during the game too - one of them very hastily behind a tree! :mrgreen:
Decent 2-0 for Basingstoke Town today starting with an absolute howler from their keeper. Over 800 paying customers in attendance but with the academy teams in, reckon it was close to a thousand!
...round-up of today's NL matches
Monday 2nd Jan (NY BH)
SLP-C
Kings Langley 1-1 Leiston
SLP-S
Bracknell Town 5-0 Hartley Wintney att 366
Gosport Borough 2-2 Winchester City att 864
Hanwell Town 1-1 Beaconsfield Town
Hayes & Yeading United
2-2 Harrow Borough
Merthyr Town 2-1 Swindon Supermarine att 727
Metropolitan Police 2-1 Hendon
North Leigh 2-3 Chesham United 88’ winner for the 'Generals' from Liam Ferdinand
SL1-C
AFC Dunstable 1-2 Thame United
Aylesbury United 0-4 Berkhamsted
Cirencester Town 2-0 Kidlington
Didcot Town 2-2 Highworth Town att 380
IL1-SC
Ashford Town (Middx) 1-3 Southall
Basingstoke Town 2-0 Thatcham Town att 802
Chertsey Town 3-0 Westfield
Marlow 2-2 Binfield att 283
Northwood 1-4 Hanworth Villa shock heavy home defeat for leaders
Uxbridge 2-3 Bedfont Sports
CCL-PN
Edgware & Kingsbury 1-0 Broadfields United
Flackwell Heath 2-1 Burnham att 366
Spelthorne Sports 3-0 North Greenford United
Wallingford & Crowmarsh 3-2 Holyport
Windsor
3-2 Hilltop att 151 - home side win it on 95' - apparently was Mick Woodham's 300th league game as manager.
Egham Town 4-1 Harefield United
CCL-PS
AFC Croydon Athletic 2-0 Redhill
Abbey Rangers 1-0 Guildford City
Sheerwater
4-0 Frimley Green
CCL-1
Eversley & California 3-1 Cove
FC Deportivo Galicia v Bagshot had been moved to Tue (tomorrow) evening
Langley 5-0 Brook House
- was the 1st leg of my 'BH Lodgers Double' 8) - as always left it late to depart, then discovered distinct lack of fuel - so was resigned to missing the first 15' at least - however a youth game from even earlier in the morning at Arbour Park over-ran and the CCL game kicked off 20' late - so I didn't miss anything :D
- official crowd given as 82 - was able to park in the main car park too
- 2nd Leg was a quick dash west across Farnham Royal and over to Burnham's 1878 Stadium for a Thames Valley Premier game:
Wargrave 2-2 Slough Heating Laurencians - very entertaining - the Slough Club deservedly led 0-2 deep into the 2nd half but the struggling 'home' side dragged one back and levelled even later
- sadly this Division has 'lost' two more sides over the Xmas break - I believe both citing lack of players:
- Chalvey Sports - depriving us, temporarily I hope, of a great 'odd-nickname' - 'The Stab Monks' &
- Windlesham have both resigned - following another fairly strong local senior outfit from this league Marlow Utd who, like Chalvey, were erstwhile Hellenic League members. Marlow Utd always seemed to find problems every season finding a suitable permanent base.
London Samurai Rovers 2-0 Spartans Youth
Rayners Lane 2-4 British Airways
HELL-P
Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-1 Malvern Town att 220
Wantage Town 1-2 Worcester Raiders
HELL-1
Calne Town 1-2 Milton United
Hartpury University 2-0 Abingdon United
SSM-P
Ardley United 3-1 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos
Risborough Rangers 2-3 Leighton Town att 252
SSM-1
London Tigers 2-4 Holmer Green
Thame United Reserves 2-1 Amersham Town
WESS-P
AFC Portchester 4-1 Fareham Town - att 1,598 – just ‘wow’ :shock: - I thought it might be big ... but nowhere near that big- Is a league and (of course club) record attendance – reportedly
– bearing in mind it was the only Wessex League game on today and (barring Gosport vs Winch) the only STEP05 and above game on, in the ‘local’ (S.Hants) area (Sholing v Totton was postponed) , I’d expect a report from someone to appear on NLM later this week....
The Royals, for that is Portchester’s nickname, are certainly on a roll. Crowds in that area of Hampshire also seem to be high all round with attendances higher than some clubs get even get at Step 3.
