Sanguine Marc Cucurella is a good full-back, but is he really £50m good?

One for the future for Chelsea - they have signed Carney Chukwuemeka from Villa. Interestingly* whilst Chukwuemeka has played for England age group sides, he is eligible for Austria, having been born there.

And Wijnaldum to Roma on loan for the season.

Cucurella has just tweeted saying that he WILL NOT be playing for Chelsea next season. (I assume it's his real account.)

He accuses Fabrizio Romano of putting out the press release about him signing for Chelsea without his agreement. Oops.

Interesting that Barca have been able to sign big players, not just financially but that they want to join. The big signings of previous years are being bullied into taking wage cuts or pushed out of the club, a behaviour the club has been following for 2 years or so now. It's been where good career go to stall. But still players want to join. Let's see how it goes for Raphina and Kounde.

I guess the prestige of Barca remains unparalleled, while the climate and beach must be an attraction too.

It frankly shouldn't be permitted. If a club is trying to force players to waive money they, as a club, agreed to pay. Then they should not be able to sign any more players.

As it stands, I believe they cannot register any of the new signings unless they get under the La Liga wage cap before the deadline next weekend - would be quite amusing if the likes Lewandowski simply cannot play for the club.

De Jong will likely be sold next week or they'll miraculously find a way.

Given that already ‘sold’ the next hundred years of TV money for 20p (metaphorically) where they get the next tranche is … I’ve no idea, but they’ll find something because … well … Barca

They need to bring their wage bill down, so this investment is relatively pointless if they don't. They were told to bring it down from the 551m it stands at. It is currently higher than that.

Isco joins Sevilla. Brilliant player to watch when on form. Hopefully playing regularly will see him rediscover his magic touch.

That's mad. Would put Gibbs-White just outside the top 10 most expensive English transfers all-time. He was on loan at Sheffield United last season.

Glad I’m not the only one - I thought I was losing it for a minute (although thee’s no guarantee that I’m not, of course)

Issa Diop to Fulham confirmed, £17m, rising to £20m with add-ons. Decent price that for a defender who should still have his best ahead of him.

Not sure I understand the Wolves position ‘loaning’ Coady to Everton, who might just be vying for one of the relegation spots with them … and Coady is a current England international

What am I missing ?

Seemingly crazy.

Forest are going for it. Stay up and it will be ok, go down and, we’ll, they best hope they bounce back quickly
