Stranded Liverpool's board's faffing around with offers lower than Soton want for Lavia could cost them as Chelsea now looking at a deal for him.

What's the game with Lavia though? I don't get it? Do Liverpool not really want him? Do Chelsea not really want him? Chelsea have apparently offered £48m. Why not the £50m Southampton are asking for? Can't help but feel there's a point about Brighton's £100m demand for Caicedo that Chelsea are making here.

FSG really have made Liverpool into a total joke in this transfer window. Arsenal, Utd and Chelsea all splaffing millions on players to improve their teams and squad depth while Liverpool have shifted 8 players out and brought just 2 in despite the owners telling supporters they'd have a massive rebuild to look forward to in this window. Liverpool now have one of the smallest PL squads and a set of owners who quite obviously are not remotely interested in allowing the club to compete with the various elite clubs around Europe. Wonder how much more the supporters will take before they turn on John Henry et al.

Ornstein saying that whilst deal agreed, Kane himself is now wavering on the decision.

Can't imagine the clubs would spend all this time going back and forth over a fee without having already received an indication from the player that he is willing to agree to the move.

but who knows really

I thought it was clear all summer he's wanted to go, and that's why Bayern are still pushing. Ornstein has only been reporting 2nd thoughts in the past week or so.

He'll look a bit silly if he decides to stay after all this drama, particularly if it's only on the basis of some good training sessions. He's been at Spurs long enough to know how the encouraging early signs under a new manager typically end.

I get from Bayern's point of view, this summer may be the only summer they can get him, hence why they are pushing so hard. There are maybe only 4-5 clubs in Europe that can pay this kind of transfer fee, and right now I am not sure anyone other than Bayern need a centre forward like Kane (RM need a forward, but seem to only want Mbappe). If he runs his contract down though he then becomes interesting to some of the other top clubs and at that point I am not sure Bayern would then be near the top of his list of preferred clubs to join

and I assume its all about going to a club that give him the chance of winning the Champions League. Not sure how much value there will be in him being remembered as a Bundesliga champion. Though maybe he just sees value in being in a winning team. Being surrounded by winners and having the expectation to win every game you play could be quite a nice mentality/lifestyle change from being at a club who's fans have almost comicly high expectations and so consider the team to be underachieving all the time

Presumably Spurs may pressure him to go. Him leaving for free is a nightmare scenario, so they should be presenting it as sign an extension or go. And given his respect for the club I expect he'll play ball.

Liverpool have apparently outbid Chelsea for Caicedo which is why Chelsea have outbid them for Lavia. So Lavia will probably end up at Liverpool and Caicedo at Chelsea.

only once though. Bayern would be among the top 5-6 favourites to win it every year

No chance, Liverpool totally failed to bid for Bellingham who went for only around £80m so can't see them bidding the £90m+ that'd probably be required for Caicedo esp. given the penny pinching bunch of **** they have as owners.
That said the Liverpool Echo is reporting a rumour that the club have tabled around £51m for Valverde.

Yep, this. Really odd career, he had. Played 15 times for France in less than two years, and then never picked again. Fortunes evaporated at Everton really.

Brighton have to be the greatest selling club ever.

How have we reached the point where Moises Caicedo is potentially going for a near PL record fee?!

Caicedo reportedly on his way to Liverpool as he becomes the 4th most expensive footballer of all time

Them pulling out of pursuing Bellingham now looks a bit odd
