I think Ashley Young is worth about £3Million.

Not more than that! No way is he worth more than that!

I think Villa will live to regret this move. As far as I am concerned, Young is small, weak and lightweight..... He does have some skill and flair but he is not the full package.

He hasn't set the Premier League alight and I don't think he will do it while he is playing for Villa. He was just one of the better players in the Championship!

For £9.5 Million, you need to be buying a player that will set the division alight and Young isn't that player. He is a £3million pound player. I think this might be one of the worst pieces of business Martin O'Neill has ever done!

But only time will tell!

People say he has/was our only decent/best player....

Well I and and lot of Watford fans would disagree really as the likes of Danny Shittu and Gavin Mahon have been more consistent.

9 million is too much really (take the money ofcourse!) but Young is still a good young player with potential and I only hope Vilal give him a chance.

Great prospect, it's not his fault that Villa offered ridiculous money and wages as I said in the other post

Very impressed with the player each time I've seem him play, but at over £9m? I'm not sure about that at all.

In that case, I'd place a £12m price tag on Doyle's head and I'd get down the market to sell him myself.

Half decent, young and British. So we'll start the bidding at £5 million then.

I'd imagine that him and Agbonlahor would play wide with Carew in the centre.

And there's the deal that's been overlooked, imo. Potentially a fantastic signing. And, with pace and width already there and brought in, that plays to his game, doesn't it?

Sounds good on paper but Agbonlahor and Young are hardly proven. Raw talent yes, but consisant players that will perform week in, week out no. Carew is a pretty poor finisher. He lives off a couple of games in the Champions League about 6 years ago.

But, then again, Villa will have to work like that for the time being.

Try six weeks ago, you idiot.

His strike rate is appalling.

2002-2003 13 goals in 45 games
2003-2004 7 goals in 26 games
2004-2005 N/A
2005-2006 12 goals in 34 games
2006-2007 2 goals in 12 games

So apart from Valencia, he's been at second rate clubs. As I said on the other thread, a poor man's Kluivert

This is the only part worth looking at, and his record here is shite.

Valencia 2000-2003
Apps: 84 Goals: 20
Titles: League win 2002

AS Roma (loan) 2003-2004
Apps: 19 Goals: 5

His record at Roma was pretty poor and Lyon have run the rule over a poor Ligue 1 for the last four seasons.

What the hell has Reading got to do with anything? You stated he was 'world class' he quite clearly is not. Why did he only move from Lyon in a swap deal with Baros then? So his market value is about £3-5 million?

If Carew's such a CL legend why has he gone to Villa?
