South Korea - Nigeria

by bobbybottler » 22 Jun 2010 20:07

Just doing the honours.

Nigeria 1-0 up.

South Korea looked excellent in their first match but have been going backwards since. Still, b0ll0cks to them, I'm going back to watching Messi trying to unlock the Greek uber-defence.

I'm sticking with the game with the goals. Nigeria looking ok and athletic and Korea looking tidy and fit.

Errors from both sides, I expect more goals.

Watching this game (and the cricket) as there is more on it. Enjoying it so far. I like South Korea. They play the game the right way.

greed,

Despite Du Ri's cock up for the Nigeria goal he's looked a decent attacking right back as well...

Yakubu with a worse miss than Govou. Literally the entire goal to hit from 6 yards out, easy ball rolling along the ground. Not coming on quickly, no bobble.

Loving this game, I can't remember ever seeing a Korean or a Japanese player diving. It might be a reflection of their respective cultures.

Agreed. Truly inscrutable, unlike the defensively naive Nigerians.

If Nigeria could have put away just one of the bundle of chances they've had they'd be through.

They just haven't been good enough anywhere. South Korea have looked far the better team in their games, but are defensively naive.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Both teams can wonder how they did not win.
