Aus-Ger-Gha-Ser decider. (OFFICIAL THREAD)

by Archie's penalty » 23 Jun 2010 18:49

Have spent ages working out the permutations of this one. Basically if you want Ger-Ghana to go through (like me) Aus need to stop Serbia. If Aus are to go through they need a big win or Ger to lose. If you want Serbia to go through you're a fascist (actually a win or a draw if one of Ger-Ghana wins).

G'arn Germany!

Hoping for a draw between Gh - Ge and an Aus 1-0 win to put Ghana - Germany through.

That Friday Feeling Watching the Ghana game - nothing to frighten England

Really? Both teams look better than us IMO. Both have a scoring problem, but no more than we do and generally play better football than we've been doing.

Saying that, I think we'd up our game enough to beat Ghana. Germany I think would be our best chance to get passed them in a WC in years, but they'd still do us.

Yep, really.

Both teams opened up far too easily, and as you say, really poor finishing. Not saying either team couldn't beat England but on the evidence of today only, we'd have every chance.

Obviously Eng vs Alg and Ger vs Aus paints an entirely different picture.

Germans have looked really good going forward but struggled to put the ball in the net other than against Australia. Not been bothered at the back massively, even with 10 men chasing the game they only gave away a handful of good chances.

To be honest, Germany were probably thinking the same watching England!

I am proud of the Australians, they did not give up and played with passion.

Bit peeved that Ghana went through, scored to goals, which were pens, and really offered little.

If only Pim worked the first game out right...
