Japan very close to a goal twice there, though Denmark looking the more likely to win. And a yellow card for timewasting 11 minutes in.

Honda puts Japan ahead with a long freekick. Sorensson goes the wrong way slowly and takes an age to dive so at fault.

And another cracking freekick from the Japs. Completely fooled Sorensson by having someone other than Honda take it. Really intelligent play from Japan.

Holland are winning so look like that'll be maximum points for them - but strangely there doesn't seem to be much of a buzz about them when likely winners are mentioned.

Haven't seen anything of Netherlands so far, fallen at bad times for me. More on the Denmark game so watching that.

They've already got the player strife bubbling under - Sneijder vs van Persie

Soren Larsen since he's been on has contributed loads more than NickLOLas Bendnter who is absolutely crud.

Honda is magic, be surprised if someone doesn't snap him up after the tournament.

Soren Larsen came on, as a youngster, when Denmark shooed England back in 05. Memory was that he was a handful.

Tony Le Mesmer Cant recall a goal direct from a free kick so far then 2 in 1 game!

Per ESPN: The last time a team scored two goals directly from free kicks in one World Cup match was Yugoslavia against Zaire in 1974

Baines Soren Larsen >>> Soren Lorensen >>> Nicklas Bendnter

Oh? Well then...

Poulsen >>>> Poulsen >>>> Poulsen

Real class from Japan throughout and thoroughly deserved

That cut-back from Honda for the third was an exquisite display of both individual brilliance and selfless commitment to the cause --that goal could've been his, and he'd've been entirely justified in going for it himself under the circumstances

hiro's got to be utterly beside himself, and good on 'im and his boys

Yes Honda does look like some player. Lovely skill for that third goal.

That's BAU for the Dutchies. I'd be more bothered if there wasn't some sort of inter-necine strife going on.

The Specials are doing GANGSTERS now on BBC HD.

I have been to this match in Rustenberg. Hope someone witnessed Royals flag on the sub stand.
Anyway, I put a thread that Reading should look at Honda almost 4 years ago when he was still playing for J-league side Nagoya.
He had moved to Russian club from Dutch club about 8 million pounds last Autumn.
Well, wish if we had him earlier.
