Best Players So Far..

Who do you think has been the player of the World Cup so far?

Having watched a lot of the group-stage games I havent been overly impressed by many individual player. Of the 3 that have impressed me most, 2 are goalkeeper; both from teams that will not be advancing (Nigeria and New Zealand). The only "name" player that I consider to have lived up to his billing is Diego Forlan.

Everyone is talking about the ball: how it reacts differently and takes getting used to, which I'm prepared to accept but these fella are top professional; paid more per-week than most of us get in a year so, whilst you can question the sanity of the top echelon at FIFA changing the ball before a show-piece event like the World Cup, you have to wonder how long it's going to take these guys to get used to a new kind of ball. 2 weeks in and there doesn't seem to have been any major change in the standard of play/

Messi has been class apart from not scoring. Ozil had a couple of good games as well.

Actually not that impressed with Germany, some useful looking youngsters but not world beaters in my mind. Made to look really good today due to the pathetic England management and couldn't care less players. That said Ozil is quality.
