I see Slough drew with Grimsby so now get a lovely Tuesday night trip to Cleethorpes in November :D

Quite how part time players sort this type of thing out in short notice let alone the clubs organising it all is beyond me

Bracknell unlucky at Cambridge, should have had at least 1 penalty.

I guess they make their employees aware of it at the time of joining and are probably only employable for certain roles/companies.

Saw Eastleigh beat a poor Borehamwood 5-1 on Saturday. They are nothing special. Chris Maguire is a decent player up front, and Paul Macallum is a natural goal scorer but he didn’t get on as he’s coming back from injury. They were fairly solid in defence and they have a good goalkeeper in McDonnell but not much else other than set pieces. Jake Taylor is very average. I also saw them at Maidenhead the week before and they were a shambles although they do have a few injuries.

Yes that score was surprising as BW are usually very well organised and difficult opponents. Reading lost 2-1 the last time they played at Eastleigh, which was in recent memory, so hopefully it won't be too much of a shock to their systems when they turn up.

Their manager was on 5 live last night saying it's a struggle to get players to have time off for it so it's not simple at all.

Interesting, although there could be a bit of the manager going on the radio and moaning about the fixture congestion about it. Certainly been done before, even at the top level.

Seems a bit odd from a players perspective though, surely to avoid any aggro, you’d just disclose it to your employer and put in protocols if something like this pops up.

I would imagine there'd be a fear of not getting the job if those potential circs were known at time of interview.

Eastleigh v Reading on ITV Sunday 3rd December 1.30pm. Anyone interested to go to this may find it easier to get tickets via Eastleigh. Would involve purchasing a ticket for one of their home games v either Altrincham or Borehamwood. Details on their website.

Just over 700 at Brackley and a much improved performance. Still lacking a clinical finisher though. Perhaps 6 ' 4" Layton Love, on loan from West Brom (!) will help

We think the League 1 refs are poor but some in NLN are shockers, including this one. Booked 4 from Brackley, ignored the blatant shove on the keeper for their equaliser and ignored the last second handball in the box. Instead he just blew the final whistle.

Still I saw plenty of signs that things are on the up

...fairly quiet midweek but that's certainly a highlight - as is Burnham coming to Rivermoor to take on Reading City in the same division.

...a level above in Isthmian One Central sees Thatcham make another attempt to host Ascot - neither side hitting their strides quite yet this season but that may be my 1st choice.

...and up at STEP03 just along the M4 in SLP-South: Hungerford Town welcome Winchester City.
'Robins' trek down to Dorchester in the same section - whilst
Beaconsfield host Harrow Borough.

...and in the Northern Section of STEP02 : Brackley host Gloucester

CCL-1 Berks County (@ Ascot) vs Bagshot and
CCL-PN Wallingford & C are also at home on Tue evening (vs Risborough).
