Derby County defender Lewin Nyatanga is in talks with Bristol City over a proposed move to Ashton Gate, BBC Radio Derby understands.

Nyatanga has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place and is expected to cost around £500,000.

The 21-year-old Wales international is a product of the Derby academy but has only made 69 appearances in four years.

He has played on loan for Sunderland and Barnsley and has been told he is surplus to requirements at Pride Park.

Worth a look? £500k isn't too much I guess, he's 21, he's a Welsh international, he's "young and hungry and got something to prove"...

i remember watching him when we beat Derby 0-4 last day of the season.

He was f'ing awful.

Always thought he looked like a good prospect to be honest.

He has all the rigth attributes to be a good centre half but he hasn't really done it. Certainly not good enough to bring in over and above what we have so, as much as I like him, I don't think it would be a good signing.

We don't need to be signing squad players at the moment as we have our own kids to fill those spots in the squad (apart from left back probably).
