Speculation: Bent and McSheffrey

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has confirmed he is willing to listen to offers for Marcus Bent and Gary McSheffrey.

I wouldn't mind either of these if we could get them at a reasonable price. Decent at Champ level and maybe the experience we need. But i think they could be very over priced.

Mcsheffrey would be good for us - particularly with the way we are playing.

Bent is shite - but if he is still shagging Gemma Atkinson sign him up.

Bent is shoite at Premiership level, but ideal at this level - yes please.
McSheffrey is similar to Tommy Smith but maybe more of an out and out winger than front man, but again - yes please.

McSheffrey would be a good replacement for Hunt and give us a player down the left who can chip in with goals and create them. Wouldn't mind that as a bit fo business.

Bent is a good target man and would offer that physical presence down the middle that we've not really had for a long time. Maybe a season or two too late for him though, but if he wasn't going to take a hefty chunk of our budget then it would be decent move. His experience wouldn't go a miss.

A front three of McSheffrey, Bent, Smith would be a lot more of a handful than Kebe, Long, Church is that's for sure.

They would improve our team for sure but they will probably want a to join a club with ambition.

if Reading do put in a bid it will be a very small amount and will drag out so long that someone else will come in and snap them up

Could be an ideal loan signing with a view to a permanent move. (Both of them)

Birmingham fans don't rate McSheffrey for some reason, but I always thought he looked great whenever we played against him when he was still at Coventry. Maybe he's too inconsistent?

Probably because he doesn't get a chance meaning he lacks match sharpness?

Yes please to Mr Mc, but I don't really remember this Bent player... remind me who he is.

Marcus Bent, big, black, aggressive centre forward who's not getting any younger but still a big unit and a right handful.

Started out at (I think) Brentford, had spells at Ipswhich, Everton and Charlton amongst quite a few others. Has never really been the most prolific, and couldn't hold down a place at Birmingham last season, but is decent in the air, reasonable quick, very powerful and could be the physical option we don't have. Better than the likes of Adebola.

He IS Marcus Bent, I doubt his parents named any male siblings with the same name, but then you never know maybe they did.

If you mean Darren Bent, then no, I don't think they're related in any way.
