Hughes kept that squad together near singlehandedly on the pitch. YEah he was no genius left winger, but he put in a decent shift there when we needed him and covered any holes we had through injury.
He was a quality box to box central midfielder. £500k was perhaps high, but not ludicrous by any stretch of the imagination.
Kitson's was clearly over-priced, but it was more about just the transfer being a totally bad fit for Stoker and him than anything else.
Sonko was a poor buy and for a defender way way over-priced. Yeah, he'd scored a couple of goals for us that seaosn, but his defending had been comedy since he came back from injury.
Halford is a good player but we totally mugged Sunderland under the circumstances. No doubt.
Shorey was a very fair price. As was Doyle. Hunt was a bit overpriced..
Fed would be the absolute killer though. A fair Championship keeper going to be second choice for one of the big 4 at £2m? utterly ludicrous.
