Tsk....Even Brendan and his magic coaching manual had more games to get things right and HE is the person responsible for our league position. We have some great young players and if we can get the midfield to be effective the McD could be as good as anyone else we might appoint. I have booked my Barnsley tickets and expect to win.

It is definitely a case of getting the midfield blend right.

It needs a good balance of creativity, goals and defensive quality. Our defence needs protection and our strikers need to be given plenty of quality chances to put enough away to win. Unfortunately we no longer have real stand out defenders or strikers, which means the midfield is so very important.

Karacan & Cisse is ok in the short term to stifle a cocky out of form Prem team, but it isn't going to provide what we need in the league.

Personally first choice when everyone is fit has to be McAnuff, Karacan, Sigurdsson and either Howard or a new wide left player.

BMcD will hopefully start getting the balance right soon. It's understandable giving Cisse and Karacan a go after Liverpool, especially given the difference in quality between us and Forest, but I suspect we really missed Sigurdsson's quality on the ball and goal threat.

Your right Ian but Kebe does offer a threat on left and some (inconsistent) good balls in - so that will be a dilemma. I look forward to McD's next selection.....

Kebe is an impact sub for me. Certainly until we tighten up and get in some decent form.

The longer he's in charge, the less and less chance of us seeing a new face come in.
I have no complaints, I like him and think he can prove himself capable.

Back to the thread title, further evidence of the bumbling approach adopted by the "Board" :roll:

Chairman Sir John Madejski has yet to confirm him as Brendan Rodgers’ successor.

Asked if a decision was likely to be made within the next couple of weeks, McDermott said: “I would imagine that would be the case, without a doubt. I’m sure things will sort themselves out in a short period of time

This is all very confusing, I have no doubt that a decision will be made when we ge our next league win, or maybe if we get another league win !! that will announce McDermott as the next manager, and the normal egomonster bollox will follow that we have an exciting new manager and a strong squad, the sad thing is he actually seems to believe that, maybe if he said that "I have assembled a strong squad with a talented manager, and I am delighted the way it has turned out, especially as it was so very cheap to do so" then we might understand where he is coming from.

Guess the guy deserves to be given a shot - he's recognised the problems ;

Mills is a far better defender than Pearce

You need a proper right back, not a fill in - Griffin great signing

Gylfi & Mcanuff mainstays in midfield - working on the other 2 to compliment, but feel he sees Karacan as a mainstay which is a good call

Needs to sort out forward line but I think the guy is getting there
