It seems he doesn't want to leave Celtic after all.

Sounds about par for a tabloid report. Phrasing like "COULD STAY" and "IT IS ALSO THOUGHT" is a good giveaway there is no substance behind the report :D

blythspartan I honestly believe that we would be a more attractive proposition than Hull. He is an Essex boy, so he may fancy a move back down South.

We shouldn't underestimate Reading as a place to live. Very close to London and not too far from the South coast.

Fair enough if a big club comes in for him but we should be able to compete with the lower Premier League clubs for players, especially, if we are serious about establishing ourselves in the Premiership long term.

Not sure he's prioritising finding a club within a commute of a good 99 flake

Which Ice Cream Van did you get it from? Just so we can inform Gary when he signs

Not convinced he's worth double Shane Long tbh but he should form a good partnership with Altidore.

Thinking about it, wouldn't mind him moving to Hull - could open up a cheeky bid for George Boyd.

According to the Mirror, Southampton are considering an £8m bid. Idle speculation maybe though sounds more realistic than him coming here

Hasn't he got one year left on his contract? No one surely will spend £8m on him! And IF we are interested at say £5-6m, then you can almost certainly say that Pog goes the other way for at least half that fee.

Southampton have completed the signing of Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez on a four-year deal for a reported club record fee of around £7m. Southampton were the only club to meet Burnley's valuation for the youngster, who had a year left on his contract and scored 21 goals last season

So what you're saying is Adkins has track record of taking a punt on a player at a different level to the one they would be performing at for a high fee when they only had a year left on their contract?

As much ridicule as there was for the fee paid for Rodriguez when he signed, and a shaky start at Saints, he's come good since......

People saying he would be happier moving down here - he was at Scunthorpe for a few years which is just round the corner from Hull in all reality.

You've got to get over the Humber Bridge tbf and that's not easy.

Sounds like his move to Hull fell through as the club wouldn't subsidise his travel costs, notably the Humber Bridge toll.

If he wants to leave to improve his chances of getting in the World Cup squad then surely he has to move to the Premier League?
