Hound Don’t know a lot about either of them but they look solid enough. Harris a wide forward? Clare seems a big experienced CB at this level. 24 and 26. Seem the right type to be going for

Very frustrating this bill stuff. Looks like the players are there and ready to come

I'm fairly certain Harris is a wide forward, as opposed to an out-and-out striker. Both would probably be solid players for us, should we be able to get them in.

Transfermarkt has him down as a forward who can play across the line - if true (and we can actually sign them) then he along with Knibbs appear to be perfect fit to the style we would expect Selles to want to play.

That is the most annoying thing at the moment, all the players linked actually make sense and seem to show we are trying to follow a decent recruitment plan.

Harris doesn’t seem to be big on goals and even less so assists. But he's been getting Champ games with them for a good few years and is still relatively young.

Good age, I'd prefer someone with a better record lower down, but beggars can't be choosers. Decent bet. Not a position we're especially strong, but also not a key area for signings.

Clare seems a versatile defender/midfielder who can cover centre or right side. Pops up with occasional goals and assists. Solid record in L1, in his prime. Again, not necessarily priority positions, but looks exactly the sort of player we should look at.

Seems Clare is more of a midfielder than defender

Looks a fairly similar profile to Laurent at 190cm?

If he is a defensive mid then ideal

Whoscored tells me he played 28 games at RB last season and none in central midfield. Not sure how to get the same info for previous seasons.

Go into history then you can filter by position

But yes you are right he mainly played RB last year and that seems to be his main position. Played 10 as a DCM in 21/22

I was searching on him as a CB, assumed because he was 6ft3…

Ahhh, under detailed tab then there's a position filter.

Brilliant, thank you. Now I just need to remember in two months when it comes up again.

morganb The Man from the Mirror says:

Reading lined up host of free agents but can’t finalise deals with EFL amid ongoing tax bill. Ex-Cardiff striker Mark Harris, who has offers from elsewhere, one of them. Sean Clare, who left Charlton, another on list. Club hope to persuade players to stay patient

Given the court hearing isn't until after the season starts, any incoming transfers currently being linked are all rather pointless.

Obviously not very good then, glad the club made the decision not to sign him.

I'm not in denial.

Not expecting him to be the one that got away.

The court hearing will have zero bearing if the owner actually pays the bill and no other creditor comes forward to support.

Local journo's stating they expect things to be sorted this week - whether that is true remains to be seen.

Based on Wilder, we should get confirmation we actually went to a different hearing that's been postponed in about 4 weeks then.

They are a much more financially stable club than we are right now. You have to face facts Dennis the Butler.

Even if the tax bill gets sorted and we sign some players, how much time are they going to get to train together before the start of the season? Even in a best case scenario it feels like we'll totally be wasting our season of 75% wages to revenue compared to the rest of the division's 60%.
