tidus_mi2 I'd rank Selles about 4th behind Coppell, McDermott and Pardew.

I'd have McGhee ahead of Pardew, we were based at Elm Park then and Pardew was given significant funds to spend for third tier,

Everyone seems to have rose-tinted glasses! Do they forget his start at RFC - insisting on 4-2-2-2? Do they forget him dragging players over to fans at the end of a match and the players being abused by the fans?

Isn’t part of why people like him that he came as a very inexperienced manager, made mistakes but learned and improved as a manager whilst being an obviously decent bloke. I’d say the good things about him significantly outweighed the less good and certainly several of those on the list above him had some defects too….

He was also a lot more handsome than the others listed too. Has to be in the conversation of most handsome Reading manager of all time.

Imagine if it starts taking as long to come through as it did when he joined us and Hull decide to move on to someone else.

It's a pretty low bar tbh. Can't comment on anyone pre-McGhee so I'd have to say Selles, Gomes, and Pardew, I guess. Quick Google search suggests Branfoot could be a contender, if one of the old boys can confirm x

Getting late in the day now. Wonder if he'll be at Wycombe? Assuming it's not announced last minute that's gone off to Hull

They're probably waiting for the statement at our end to be ready, at some tonight Hull will get fed up and just announce it themselves.

windermereROYAL Why would they be waiting for us? it`s happening.

It's courtesy for both sides to release statements at the same time without pulling the rug out from the other.

A Hull journo said about an hour ago he was at the stadium after having done a tour of the training facilities. I imagine it's simply about signing the paperwork now.

Saw Porterfield in that pub outside the Station at the Royal Ascot meeting after he finished with us, he`d had a few, I had a very quick chat with him, he said he regretted taking the job on the very first day.

Still no official announcement from either side....

I wonder if Dai changed the goalposts half way through the deal, and it's causing a delay?

No announcement before 7 according to Hull side.

BBC Berks saying Selles had a release clause permitting him to speak to any interested club.

Not the clubs fault then if he insisted it was included.

You can blame them for many things but not this.
