I think it depends what, if any, funding the club has been able to obtain as it was reported the money has run out for wages & tax. We will understand more about this by the end of the week when it will become apparent whether or not HMRC payment has been made (due tomorrow).

I’m too lazy to check but the fire sale was quite late in the window this time last year wasn’t it?

Holmes was the first one to go on 17th Jan.
Abbey 25th.
TMc 30th.
Taylan Harris and Vickers 1st Feb.

So Holmes had already left by now, but the window is open 2 more days this year, compared to last year.

I'd also not really consider the above a fire sale either.

Could be a good deal.

Leicester City are keen on Reading defender Tyler Bindon.
They want to leave the Kiwi international on loan at Reading for the rest of the season, and then bring him into the fold in summer

If we got a 7 figure fee for him and kept him for the rest of the season, I think thats the best for all parties.

Read the 15 minute bit as £15 million initially and got very overexcited. Any amount of cash for him (and a loan back) would be a no brainier, given he goes for free in six months - clearly this is true for 80% of the squad!

No offers yet for any players this window according to Noel in today's pre match press conference.

Here we go. Southampton have made an offer worth £2m for Garcia, according to Fabrizio Romano. Initial bid rejected, but not clear if this is the initial bid, or an upped bid.

Edit: looks like this is the improved offer.

£2m package probably means £1m up front at most. Maybe closer to £500k. Still a decent offer though.

Take it. All day long. Great future potential, but does the least damage to the current match day squad for the most money in.

Obviously if we can get more / more upfront / bigger sell on through hardball then do it, but don't miss out on the cash.

It would be nice to get £10m in a season or two, but we need to survive the now.

Now that’ll come in useful in Southern league.

If there is a decent sell on clause then i would have no issues with this offer. The kid started well and has clearly got talent but he seemed almost petulant at times against stockport and with the sending off earlier in the season with Kelvin.E.

Left back is a problem area but the kid is not the fix at present and the move wouldn't hurt us to much. Would five hundred thousand get us through the season though? probably not so guessing another may still have to leave.

I'd take it. If he's the only one we lose that's a result. His temperament somtimes let's him down, never know what you'll get with him but bung a decent sell on clause amount and it becomes a good deal.

We’d have to accept really. Nobody had heard of him start of the season and academy paying its way again

This 100% Hound!! The club probably would have folded a year ago without the Academy. If this is proof to any potential new owner that this is front and center to ensure you keep the academy going as you really can almost become sustainable with a decent well run youth set up.
Sell two or three young players each season with a decent sell on fee and boom you become sustainable.

Personally, I wouldn't be upset if Savage goes but I would cry if we lost Bindon. All about the sell on clause if we do lose him....

If he goes he`ll have to get used to playing for their U18s and 21s for a length of time then either develop and progress upwards or has I suspect move on to play for clubs further down the football pyramid.

Add another 100% to the pile from me.

And they're broadly much more likable.
