Can we confirm that we took a haircut on the Bindon transfer fee and/or a reduction in the sell-on fee in order to get this one over the line? i.e. we didn't spend any money

I doubt we could confirm it.
In practice how would it work ? The Bindon deal was done months ago. I doubt Bowler agreed personal terms with us in January and if he couldn’t agree terms then there would be no money to save.
If Bowler had joined us in January on a swap then it would be easier to see.

Very doable in practice. As a legal expert I can comment with authority and say that contracts can be renegotiated as long as there is consensus on all sides. Furthermore, the nature of player registrations is that fees are paid over extended periods making amendments to the initial contract more commonplace than you might think. And as for sell-on clauses these are bought and sold oftent long after an initial player transfer is confirmed.

My source is solid. My legal knowledge is paralleled.

What is your interpretation of 'done' - price agree, medical and contract signed?

Ah come on bruv....Brogue and myself go to a lot of trouble to bring insider information, or for want of a better word, "scoops" to this board, and to have our credentials and integrity questioned is traumatizing.

Revealing the information we get from our sources in advance of deals being done is something that we do in full knowledge that our professional reputations and personal safety may be at risk should these leaks ever be uncovered.

So, a bit more gratitude wouldn't go amiss.

I think you should start a double act with Millsy.

I think this would be announced by now if it was happening. I'll apologise to Brogue if it does still go through.

If it’s been done for so long then what’s the hold up on the announcement? Has he been training with the team?

Yep he has been training with the team and has been for a couple of weeks now. We’re really not sure what the hold up is.

Had my suspicions. I was going to make reference to it in the post, but decided against it.

Don't all our signings still have to go through additional scrutiny from the EFL? As this one is the only one with a transfer fee involved, I'd imagine any scrutiny would be doubly so.

None of our signings have been particularly quick so far.

Are we about to get Tommy Smithed again? That would be a shame.
