Snowflake Royal I'm baffled we haven't used him more and we've let his contract wind down like this to the point we're getting so little. But maybe he's never had any intention of hanging around long, like Olise.

Well, quite, perhaps it was clear he wouldn't sign a new contract and already had interest elsewhere.

Uke His naive BBC Berks interview a while ago showed that he really wanted to move on and has a massive ego (like Olise)
Hopefully (for him) it'll prove to be the same and not a slow fade into mediocrity

Well getting kids as good as Garcia and Olise at all is a coup and we all know we’re just a stepping stone (even in the PL we’d be a stepping stone but we’d at least get to see them play for longer) so really not too fussed about what they say in interviews. A bit of arrogance is probably what makes them into who they are.
In Olise you could see there was something a class apart but never seen anything in Garcia to show why everyone is raving but they’re all supposedly experts in that arena so must know about these things rather better than me. Andre has had his career to date largely stalled by the club’s situation and managers seemingly not being entirely convinced he’s a left back or left winger. If he goes then very good luck to him, hope he really proves himself and helps to lift the 2030 WC with England.
At least if he proves himself a class above then we’ll get a bit of whatever future transfer fees he’s sold for.
At least kids that are this skilled can see they get a chance at Reading so would certainly be persuaded to join more easily. Just need the higher levels of football to get them queuing up a bit and at the club for longer while able to be sold on for a bit more.

Z175 I don't think Garcia is comparable to Olise.
Olise was a known quantity after spells at Chelsea and Man City academies and we know from the agent debacle why he came to Reading and about the release clause etc.
Garcia we know almost nothing about. He played games a lot earlier than Olise and did really well to make about 50 appearances before the age of 18.
I think the BBC Berks interview was really during as time in which the club were selling off assets to stay afloat so he knew he was being touted. If he had agitated for a move he would have got it.
I find it bizarre he isn't involved more - I think that is the pressure of needing to succeed long term with high scrutiny from the owners. In the long run we would be sensible to play him as much as possible - likely even a "free" transfer to a PL side this summer would yield significant compensation.
His touch and ability on the ball is really good. Sure he needs time to learn more arts of defending but he made huge strides in the physical nature of the mens game already. He will be definitely seen as one that got away.
I also don't think young players should be sold abroad. I think the Sigurdsson to Hoffenheim move at such a young age didn't really do him good on a personal level, he has spoken about how lonely he was leaving his friends etc. This feels more like that move to me - a club brutally cashing in on its assets to fund the bills.
