Stranded Rumour on Twitter, not from a particularly credible account, linking us to a move for Dane Scarlett on loan from Spurs.

Had a relatively underwhelming loan at Pompey last season.

Think I’d prefer someone who has had at least a full league season behind him like Scarlett

6 goals in 40 for them. Would expect to step up and improve that this year

Just googled a bit and played 45 for spurs last night. Seem to quite rate him. Guess there are similarities between how Spurs and us set up so could be something there

Same Twitter account who mentioned Scarlett also suggesting Kion Etete of Cardiff in on our list of potential loan signings.

Would be know to Carey as was at Spurs before leaving for Cardiff.

Seem to be looking at a few players from Cardiff according to recent rumours. Yakou Meite loan deal might get mentioned next.

Is he going to come here to be back up to Smith and Big Kelv?

Good Q. Though I suspect all 3 would get enough opportunities if we play 2 up. First season for Big K so need to be mindful of that

Think we should make him Captain if he signs.

Smith is currently injured so he'd get an immediate opportunity to stake his claim. Even when Smith starts returning it will initially be from the bench after a significant injury. So play well enough in his first month and he'd keep the shirt.

Big Daz from the Mirror was doing a Q and A on Twitter, when asked about Reading he said:

After a CM and a CF. Lots of deals have collapsed so far late on

Nature of the situation the club is currently in sadly, either assurances not able to be given or a more stable club showing interest.

I’d have thought a prem young player on loan wouldn’t be too much of an issue - wouldn’t be expected to pay all the wages or fee, but likely to get good game time and manager clearly happy to play inexperienced players

Anything else more tricky

PL club would still want assurances that we would pay them the portion of the wages due - given we were under embargo partly for not doing that, even that could be a hard sell, even if the PL club could afford it.

Anyway, the Reading Talk account seems to think a loan striker will get announced today. Imagine it will be Ballard or Scarlett.

Either of those would be pretty amazing ...

Surprised by no LB. Could this mean we've found a role for NGW after all? Happy enough with that outcome.

Dane Scarlett (19 years old) I think is probably the more exciting prospect of the two, but then Selles will know Ballard (18) better and is therefore probably the most likely of the two to join. So Chris Martin it is then!

Tino Anjorin gone to Pompey.
A bit nearer to where his folks live but I feel a bit disappointed especially with our good links to Chelsea.

We'll see, Elliott is hopefully much better!

Would have liked both with Tino being the physical midfielder (he's a big lad) that we want (assuming that Hutch will be injured again before long).

Not to mention we allegedly just got burnt on a commitment to play PL loanee that we then didn't pay for properly.

Right now, there is no way we should be committing to give any loanee guaranteed starts when fit.
