Didn't we already have this arguement before with the whole damn world on one side and Spacey on the other.

Ian Royal Who said anything about Championship Manager - You.

I'm not making assumptions, I making perfectly obvious logical observations.

Based on what? Assumptions?

I brought up the Championship Manager reference because from that people seem to have an idea of how transfers works. The reality is that transfers are handled differently by many clubs. How do you know that Reading were happy with what Sheffield United had offered? You don't. So there's no way you can make a "logical observation" out of something you don't know about. Until Reading formally turned down the offer, they had not done anything other than ask Leroy if he wanted to go.

It’s a very fair and probably very accurate assumption based on how the club has said they deal with offers for their players.

If a deal comes in and they feel it is right for the club they will put the offer to him, if not they will dismiss it out of hand.

The fact that the offer was put to Lita more than suggests that the club were more than happy with the deal and had to all intents and purposes accepted it.

They put it to Lita who said he wanted to stay and fight for his place so they told Sheff Utd the deal was off.

What Stranded said.

Spacey, you're a blinkered fool and I'm not discussing it anymore because you're incapable of seeing reason and it's already been done to death.

The fact remains that they didn't accept the offer at all.

So you really think we had no intention of letting Lita go to Sheff U if he'd said yes.

I'm not sure that is true....

I think Coppell has said previously that he'd make any player aware of an offer that was received and wouldn;t necessarily stand in the way of a player who wanted to go.

Of course that wouldnlt stop the club rejecting an offer, but it doesn;t sound right that they would not even infirm a player if an offer was received.

From what I've heard, the terms offered to Lita were so poor that he'd never accept them. It was a spoiler so Sheffield Utd could appease their supporters when they sold Beattie to Stoke.

Look at us, we've tried to get a replacement but he's turned us down.....

That's not the point. The point is, before Lita had decided if he wanted to go, Reading had neither accepted or turned down the offer.

The way the club works is that for every player they set a price, and if they receive an offer in excess of that they will put the offer to the player to decide.

For a player who has had assorted "issues," is not a regular starter and who is a relatively high-earner in the last six months of their contract, I'd be very surprised if the required price was not "if we can get anything at all then bite their hand off."

If that's the case then why were Reading FC delighted that Lita chose to stay?

Nobber in believing what the club say in public shocker!

What keeps his value up and looks better "We want rid, any offer considered because he's a disruptive influence" or "We're delighted he's decided to stay and fight for his place."

You're cynical.

I'd rather believe the club than anything I read in the newspapers.

In this case, from Sheffield United.

Oh and I seriously doubt that the club told the papers about Leroy Lita's sex video.
