Ian Royal It is idiocy to want to think we'd be fine letting Fed go and putting a young inexperienced keeper in his place. If there is anywhere on the pitch where experience is most important it's at goalkeeper.

Young keeper's will make errors, its simple. But hey lets get rid of Fed now he's cutting more of his out and put in someone much younger with massively less experience... I'm sure it'll all be fine.

Up to the point McCarthy makes a few silly mistakes and then he'll "always have been shit" and Madejski & Hammond will need to leave the club for letting Federici go and leaving us with "some young clown".

While I agree with you to a point ( ), if the right bid comes in then he'll go. Simple.

Obviously.

Adam Federici is not better than any keeper in the first team at any Prem club. We will offer him a good 3 year deal, with a £4m get out clause, he will accept, he knows that RFC will accept offers at the required amount. Nothing will be spoken about until next season after that, as no prem team will buy him, and should he decide to see out his contract at RFC he will go to a bencher, or a lower team for similar money, tho saying that are there any clubs at our level that need a new keeper, assuming that they can afford an extra one on the books.

That's a shit load for a keeper... personally wouldn't expect the figure to be that high

Maybe if Gilks doesn't sign his new contract but otherwise no.

Last Saturday's Football League show on a day when so little football was played will have raised Fed's profile considerably.
Like a lot of people I am neutral about him-he looks a good shot-stopper but his positional play is sometimes suspect.
We do have a lot of keepers at the club and I just wish our youth set-up was full of passing midfielders and physical goal-scoring strikers than even more highly rated young keepers.

Yeah, scouts watch the football league show to find out about 'keepers who have been first choice for a year and a half.

Never mind the scouts-the managers will have watched and seen a spectacular display.
Also the lad Sercombe's goal for Exeter will have improved his chances no end especially when scoring against a high profile club like Wednesday.
BTW that really was a special goal as he was being challenged when shooting so it was far from being just a simple long distance strike on goal.

It's not going to bring him to anyone's attention who didn't already know plenty enough about him. He's played first choice for us for a season and a half, regularly pulling off great camera saves and been linked to Premier League clubs before.

Some highlights on the BBC are not going to make him more likely to go ffs.
