Because he was the best at that role, a goalscorer - popping up in the box to score. To just refer to Sigurdsson as a goalscorer is an insult to him, he could do everything.

Oh yes, Rasiak was excellent at standing 6 yards from goal and nodding the ball in.

However, we need our strikers to do slightly more than that if our system is to work, and as such, I don't think he's been particularly missed.

Hardly an insult, it would be an insult to not refer to him as our best goal scorer surely!

Never said they could. But they offer so much more in every other facet of their play. See Kris Boyd at 'boro this season for an example of how just being a 'goalscorer' isn't good enough in this league.
