"worth up to £4m". In Cardiff terms, that means 250k now, and the full 4m when they win the Premiership, he makes 500 appearances and gets 100 Scotland caps as we win the World Cup.

It's like the Cureton thing. Only real money talks. Other clubs were talking in terms of 500-750k on all sorts of bases, whereas we just shoved 250k in a briefcase and took it down to the mem. I bet 2.5-3m of hard cash would get him, if we wanted him. Personally, I would only go for him if Kits left - same sort of player.

Cardiff City are preparing to table a fresh bid for Rangers striker Kris Boyd. (PA Sport, 0945)

Seriously guys, why are we bothered?

We will at best return to how we used to do things. We will, if we're lucky, see a big summer signing of around £800,000 - £1,000,000 and a few cheapy bargains.

This lad will need at least a £2m bid and we aren't going to pay that sort of money.

Kris Boyd

what do you think?

Rangers have said they are willing to do business for the right price, 18 goals this season, target man kind of mould, think it could be a good move

LOL

A striker that was touted as £3m back in the summer, hmm, yeah...

£3m is doable if Coppell thinks he's the right player.

Don't know much about him, but 18 goals is pretty good. Not sure it's Coppell's kind of deal though.

Based on ? He may be a lazy b'tard but he knows where the goal is - and lets hope that the goals he does score from Brum ( when and if he does sign) doesnt prove to make the difference between us and Brum getting promoted.

i personally think that brum buying another striker is pretty funny. they're doing such a good job of juggling the 300 that they've already got, after all.

Brum's strategy is clearly to buy up every available striker so that no other clubs have any :) Boyd is certainly described as being a generally lazy player but one who scores goals. If that is the case (I've not seen enough of him to have an opinion) then he isn't going to fit the way we play. On to the next one I say !

Boyd and Phillips up front would be by far the laziest strike force in the Chump.

Well, it got Colin and United into second position in 2006.

A very good signiing if Birmingham get him. Would be the best forward in the division.

He's nowhere near better than Doyle - he's lazy, doesnt work for the team but he does score goals and plenty of them - Doyle is a far better all-round player
