The things is, Ian, your expectations at the beginning of the season and at the end are very different. At the beginning of last season, fourth would have been very much acceptable; by the time it happened it was pretty much a failure.

It was a failure. But that doesn't mean at the same time the season wasn't a success. I'm disappointed we didn't do as wel as we could and should have done given the context of the season. But I'm more than happy with finishing 4th when looking at the bigger picture and moving on as it met my expectations.

The 17 Bus Play offs at least, anything less will be a failure, mid table is nothing to aim at or be happy with, thats because of where we have recently come from.
Not that long ago that teams like Norwich and S'ton said a season of transition would be ok, yeah then they went down.
'Greed.
Also, hope we sign Rose. He's been effective for England U21 and clearly has a good working relationship with Rodgers.
Hope it's not just a loan, either.
