Ian Royal
FiNeRaIn Na, not the sort of signing clubs looking for a place in the premier league make.

Journeyman outside the Prem, not one for the future either.

Not all signings need to fit into those two categories. Sometimes you do just need a reasonably reliable player in for the short term to do a job until you find that gem of a player who'll help with the next step up.

Lloyd Owusu being a good example.

Ah yes, I remember Owusu scoring in the last minute when we were 1 nil down against some one, its was a header and we were on the break - i loved him for the point and goal.

That was some goal. Against Ipswich IIRC. Hahnemann with a quick kick down the field to Scott Murray (?) who crossed it first time for Owusu to head home. Route one at its best! If that wasn't a reason to love Lloyd Owusu, you had to love his 'raise the roof' goal celebration!

Yes, it was Murrey - was utterly class, first time cross and header. Literally two touches and in the back of the net.

Nope. It was definitely Ipswich. They had just scored late on in a very tense match when they were heading for promotion & all their fans thought they'd got the 3 points. It was a very good goal and probably about the best Lloyd scored with us.

Definitely not Ipswich where our last ditch equalizer was scored by Ivar with a back post volley. Pretty sure it was Sheffield Wednesday but I also remember Lloyd also scoring a superb diving header from around the penalty spot, I think against Crewe.

Nope, that was ivar. But it might not be wigan either- this is the goal i was talking about

Reading 1 Wigan 1 27/11/2004

Owusu's spectacular header cancelled out Alan Mahon's fortunate deflected effort.

With time running out in the first half, Steve Sidwell gained possession in midfield and swept a perfect pass into Little's stride in space on the right. The winger delivered a wonderful cross into the heart of the penalty area, where Owusu arrived to bullet an unstoppable header past the helpless John Filan for the equaliser.

So maybe its not that one either as that was the 42nd minute.

Reading 1 (Ingimarsson 90) 22/01/2005
Ipswich 1 (Bent 89)

With Reading on the brink of defeat, just seconds later Little found space on the right and chipped in a dangerous centre which dropped towards Ingimarsson at the far post, and the Icelandic star - who had once again been excellent throughout - crashed an unstoppable half-volley into the roof of the net to secure a dramatic equaliser.

You said it with such conviction as well :D

It was this game, I remember it vividly as it is only one of two games I have ever seen at the Madejski:

10 January 2004: LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
READING 1 IPSWICH TOWN 1

The second half was far more open and both teams went looking for goals. Magilton had a header blocked, and Reading had to defend with some urgency after Brown went to ground and missed his tackle leaving the Royals temporarily outnumbered at the back. Murray, looking sharper than at any time this season, was taking players on and going past them. He was crucially involved in the opening goal of the game. It was a fine goal too. From Hahnemann to the back of the net with two touches! The 'keeper played a superbly weighted ball down the right wing into Murray's path who ran on to it and hit an excellent near post cross which Owusu met with his head and placed beyond Davis inside the far post. A goal worthy of three points, but it was not to be. Ten minutes later from an Ipswich corner the ball was knocked down into the six yard area where McGreal pounced to stab the ball home from close range. It was a soft goal to concede.

YateleyRoyal
Arnie_Pie Seems to be quite a lot of internet chatter up in Doncaster regarding their midfielder joining us very shortly.

Where?

Isaac Hunt
Would be a great addition.

Couldn't find anything on though - which "internet chatter" are you looking at?

Sorry chaps. Here you go -

There was more but I cannot find it anymore. The top link is the more interesting one. Seems that a few think Mooney might be going the other way.

Still, all rumours.

I could only see this being a possibility if Harper goes. £2mil appears to be the asking price, and I doubt we'd spend all the Smith money on him. Would be chuffed if this does go through though!

Sounds quite promising, wonder what this would mean for Sigurdsson and Davies though. That said if we lose Harper and Matejovsky then he sounds like he could be a good option and it'll free up some wages to use elsewhere which is good.

Stock is exactly what we need.

A leader and future captain, he can provide some much needed direction in midfield. Set up the victory against Cardiff yesterday.

I must admit not knowing too much about Brian Stock. If he came in, who would he replace?

The Howard rumours are gathering pace. That would seem more likely now. I can't imagine we'd purchase both.

I assume The Cube will have better info on whether Stock will be joining.
