What Pearce lacks you can't teach.

Sheff Utd's a good club for him. Could learn a lot from Morgan. He needs to become a nasty cnut who everyone hates.

Can't think of 2 nastier oxf*rd than Blackwell/Morgan.

SteveRoyal Pearce could be the ideal replacement for Ivar if he continues to improve in training. I'm sure he knows what his flaws are and will work on them during his time out of the side.
Just like Sigurdsson knows he has a mean shot on him, but doesn't track back as much as is necessary.
Church has fantastic movement and work rate, but not such a good shot (yet).
Young players improve their games with time.

They're very different players. Ivar was always intelligent and cultured, a very good reader of the game.

Pearce is much more cumbersome, more of a bruiser IMO. Just look at the different bodyshapes they have in any of the highlights of games they play together...

Ivar always has his weight spread evenly, slightly crouching on the balls of his feet ready to move in any direction. Pearce is much more upright, feet quite close together, on his heels or whole foot and he struggles to change directions quickly.

Prob a non starter no Killa has apparantly decided to stay and we've got Seip on loan from Plymouth.

I'd prefer Mills to be honest

Future to the spine of our team, I think.
The spine being: Pearce, Karacan, Sigurdsson, Church.

Agree apart from pearce - He is awfully average, with no pace.

Looks like killa's off to sunderland. Wouldn't be surprised to see more of this rumour around now.

Pearce can go and a Short's Skip can take his place. Maybe not. Blades would be better off getting a skip instead as the skip would be more mobile.

The Blades will spend to replace Killgallon and one of the names in the frame to replace him is Mills - no mention of Pearce.

Although they have sold Killa for £2m there is a sell on fee and any offer for Mills is likely to be well below this figure. I guess we would sell if a seven figure bid came in.

I don't think we would sell. We only have 3 centre backs and our can't see us selling one of the first choices ones when we are in a relegation battle and have no need to sell. Mills is getting better with every match and with him being a southerner I doubt he wants a quick return to the north.

surely the key to the defensive improvement is teh addition of a CB with some pace in mills. either ivar or pearce would improve with that next to them- the other combo is like playing with two ivars

If we sell Pearce, then you might as well scrap the Academy. Actually, what's the point in supporting your 'local club'. Whatever your views on Pearce (I happen to think he's got plenty of potential), he has been poorly mismanaged this season. That clown Rodgers put far too much pressure on him (calling him the new John Terry and giving him the vice-captaincy).

With the entire team struggling, it is going to affect a young raw defender more so than a up and coming striker (Church gets less stick, yet misses more than Andy Cole).

Not necessarily. For a lot of clubs, it's about the Academy supporting the club (financially), and a couple of million from AP would be a great result.

Was it only me who saw Ivar skin Eagles in the last minute on Saturday?

I would not lose any sleep if Pearce left the club. Too cumbersome. I don't think that Kishvan Milli Vanilli would be a bad acquisition.

Not in the squad yesterday. Would be very surprised if he's here come 5pm tomorrow.

I'm amazed. I'd have driven him there myself.
