The Goat was fed Ok I can genuinely put this one to bed.

I went round my mums for dinner last night, who lives in New Malden and bumped into Mike Kelly (Fulham's assistant manager) and he said that they were looking at a goal scoring Icelandic midfielder, to bring a bit of colour to their game - it's not Siggy.

That would be Mike Kelly, the goalkeeping coach who left Fulham a few weeks ago to take up a position at Liverpool?

Ideal Stoke are only in the market for central defenders and targetman strikers. That's the only type of player they ever sign.

Who's talking about Stoke?

Don't think a sell on clause would be in a player's contract. That's down to the buying and selling clubs top agree on.

Where have you been living the last 5-10 years?

It's been an ever more common clause in players contracts so that they aren't forced to stay at a club when another party is interested (if they offer the set value club and player agree on for the contact).

It's how we got Doyle for one.

Eh? So in Doyle's contract between him and RFC, it stipulated that his subsequent transfer would mean XX% to Cork? Surely that's a conditional contract between the clubs? I can understand trigger clause values for release but not sell on arrangements.

We got Doyle for something like £75k because, in his Cork contract, he has a 100k Euro release fee.

They weren't too happy with us getting him for a knock down price.

Stephen Hunt has a clause somewhere along the lines of £5m (apparently) and so when we alledgedly had bids below that we turned them down. If they'd offered the figure quoted in the contract we'd have been obliged to let the bidding club speak to him and it would be out of our hands.

Is it that difficult?

2010/11

He scored his first goal of the 2010/11 season in the first match of the season when he "skipped past two players before smashing in a 25-yard equalizer" [15] against Scunthorpe in a 2-1 home loss. He followed this up with a short range chip in the 22nd minute away at Leicester. It is rumoured that Sunderland are weighing up a move for Sigurðsson. On June 29 the Icelandic media confirmed that Gylfi would travel next monday to Germany to undergo a medical at Bundesliga leaders Hoffenheim.

Yeah, okay.

Barry the bird boggler Said cheeky bid has to be at least 5 million down or else I can see STs being sent back to JM.....

Reckon Madejski might be in favour of that. He can pocket a huge transfer fee, then sell on all the returned season tickets for a discounted price and get even more money.
