That's another £3.5m to potentially play with next season.

morganb Congratulations to on loan #ReadingFC striker George Puscas on gaining promotion to Serie A with Genoa!

An obligation for the Italian side buy him for €4m will now be activated this summer.

If that is completely true that’s massive news for us

Bowen said it was an obligation, I doubt it`s that straightforward, it never is with us.

Bowen confirmed it at the Blue Collar event recently, I think.

We probably won't get the whole fee up front

I wish him all the best and the money will be great for us next season. Plus Moore, Joao and Meite off the payroll at the end of June? Just need to get rid of the waste of space that’s Ovie Ejaria now.

I feel sorry for Puscas. We never really played to his strengths or got the best out of him. The right move for all parties.

We need to use the money wisely in league one. His transfer fee could fund 4-5 good players in L1 for 3 years

It was reported as a €3m deal at the time (link1, link2), so does anyone know where the extra €1m has come from?

Either way, knowing we’re almost certain to be selling him now is a huge boost for next season.

€3m = £2.6m; €4m = £3.5m. No?

Yes, at the moment those are the correct approximate amounts.

If we can get Kwasi Kwarteng back in No11 between now and Puscas leaving, it might be £20m.

He has hardly set seria B alight 4 goals in 24 appearances. If it’s true I bet Genoa regret making that deal.

I don’t think they’d sign him without it and I wouldn’t be surprised if the offload him immediately for 2m or so

It’s worked out ok for them as they’ve gone up and it’s just quite an expensive loan

Agree - Pauno played him as a lone striker when Joao was injured and he got a lot of stick from the fans. Always gave 100%

Shame really, never given a real chance to play in a front two. Would have been fun to watch next season in league one playing alongside Carroll or Kelvin.E :D i'm sure in a 4-4-2 with the wingers getting the ball into feet he would have been deadly!!

The guy is a natural goalscorer, remember that 5 min hattrick against Wigan and his goal against Cardiff!! shame we'll never find out, i guess another off to pastures new due to bad management.

After that goal against Cardiff I genuinely thought that we had a striker to fire us into the Premiership.

I was always willing him to do well as he always tried so hard but poor management and a lack of confidence didn’t help him.

I am not sure how deadly he’d be as he lacked pace for me and he couldn’t head the ball either. I’d sooner of had ALF or Forster but I do wonder if McDermott would have got the best out of him if he’d been the manager.

Puscas showed glimpses of class with us. Some quality goals like Cardiff and Barnsley at home and Wigan away. If we used him better maybe he'd be off to a premier league side and we'd have made a profit on him.

I'm disappointed he couldn't play up front on his own though as he's a fairly big striker

He just wasn't very good.

He couldn't read the game and spent his time standing around reacting slowly. His first touch was poor. He didn't have pace, and his finishing was ropey, blazing over going for overpowered narrow angle shots.
