Elmer Park Sky Sports are also reporting that as well as bidding for Fryatt Hull have been given permission to speak with Aaron McLean so I assume a fee has been agreed with Peterborough. Also said they had bid for Austin turned down.

Incidentally the same report syas that Peterborough want three million for Mackail-Smith. I would say that is a very good example of what McDermott has described as phenomenal asking prices. I must admit I had him down as about a tenth of that.

That's an astronomical figure for a League 2 player that didn't even set the Championship a light last season.

Peterborough have always been ridiculously unrealistic of late. Claimed Boyd, Mclean and CMS were worth £5million each when they got promoted last time and said they were promotion contenders

£1.3m bid for McLean accepted apparently.

He is one of those strikers who struggles to make steps up. He scored 33 in L2, then 18 in L1, then 8 in the CH and now has 14 this season back in L1.

On that goalscoring record £1.3m is too much.

Finding his feet and starting to score goals. He has 5 goals in the Championship (all scored in his last 4 matches).

He was playing in a League 1 squad in the Championship though. With Championship players around him, he may become better.

Wish we had put in a decent offer for him then tbh!

Relationships between Reading and Bournemouth must be good and I am hopeful that one day we will pick up one or more of their better players.
Pearce
Karacan
Henry
Golbourne
and now Bignall have all been on loan there in recent years.
I'm not convinced that Pitman is upper Championship or lower Premier League standard (presumably where we are aiming)but he is a physical player and would have provided a different option to what we now have.

We should've signed a few Bournemouth players over the years - Sam Vokes would've been a good signing.

Agreed but the poor lad has had a few injuries and hasn't really had a good chance to show his worth at Wolves or out on loan.
Time is still very much on his side.

I thought Hull were fighting off administration. How on earth can they afford him?

New owners, parachute payments, gambling on a quick return to the PL as the only hope for long-term survival.

Agreed, but remember a statement last season saying they had already hocked their parachute money

Hull are obviously showing some ambition unlike our egotistic tight fisted old ghit of a Chairman.

Real Facts Real World.
