Apparently we're in battle with Hull City to secure Jay Spearing from Liverpool for a one year loan deal with view of a permanent move after that. Spearing has been unable to secure anything near a first team spot at Anfield and feels he needs steady football at a good level to prove himself to new manager Roy Hodgson.

What about JonJo Shelvey...the guy who Liverpool signed from Charlton in the Summer...a loan deal for him would be pretty decent...bearing in mind he's not featured for them at all since the move up there...

yeah good shout, am sure spearing was no more than average for leicester last season.

It appears Liverpool only have 8 home grown players in their squad including Spearing so they will have to name him in their 25.
