Scott Sinclair

by The Prisoner » 20 Mar 2011 19:13

If by some minor miracle we go up and Swansea don't can we somehow find a way of getting him? Amazing goal against Forest yesterday, 17 goals this season and just a fab player. Why didn't that twonk Rogers get him for us?!

I know....lots of intangibles there....but a great player none the less. How much would he cost? £3m might be do-able?

I think his potential is clear for all - so I can't see how we'd possibly win the bidding war that would ensue for him from much bigger clubs.

I'm not so sure. He didn't really impress during his loan spells so I'm not sure any of the bigger teams would be ready to take a punt on him this year.

Terminal Boardom Well run club blah blah blah

It would be interesting to see where we would be placed in a table of Profit & Loss accounts for the Championship clubs this season.

If positions in that table were combined with the real points table I suspect, even without parachute payments, Reading would be very close to being, if not THE, top club in the league this year - which does suggest it is a VERY well run club, blah blah blah.

Actually Swansea had a wagebill about half the size of ours last year. Even with their marquee signing and us losing players, i cant think we're anywhere as low as them. This is why they lose ambitious managers

Imagine this team in the Prem:

-----------------------------McCarthy--------------------------------

---Griffin------Mills---------Khizanishvili--------Bertrand :? ---

---Kébé---------Karacan---------Leigertwood----McAnuff----

----------------------------Sinclair--------------------------------

-----------------------------Long---------------------------------

Ideally I'd like us to sign a couple of top Championship players such as Max Gradel, Grant Holt etc...

To answer the op it was because Sinclair went on loan to Wigan and still thought he had a chance at playing for Chelsea.

Also to the poster above me you would like us to buy Max Gradel? Thanks but no thanks we already have some class wingers, Holt I would agree with or Graham.

I think we could do with a right-back. Someone like that Hodson who was playing Watford.

We could never afford Doyle or Shorey's wages anymore. I would love to have the Sig back here on loan... :?
