RUMOUR - Lee Camp

by retro_royal » 13 Oct 2008 15:17

A source close to the club has told me that we are interested in taking QPR's unsettled goalkeeper Lee Camp on loan from the london club with a view of making it perminant in Jan. Certainly some interesting competition for Marcus?

would be a good signing
he is being forced out of qpr because they signed cerny in the summer. not sure why they did as camp is quality
would rather have camp than federici or andersen

would be a great siginig to take over from marcus when he retires in a couple of seasons

Fourish Championship years experience and still a good age , only 24 , i'd feel very confident with him as back up if there is a problem with Marcus ever.

Camp >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cerny

There *could* be some truth in this, Hahnemann at 37 only has a year's contract left, maybe they will loan Federici out for the season and then have Camp and Federici next year?

Only thing is he'd swap the bench at QPR for the bench here almost certainly.

He's a good keeper regardless and QPR are idiots for not playing him imo.

I think if I was Camp i'd see that Marcus has a years tops in him and then eye up that jersey. I feel he has more chance of pushing for that number one spot than someone like Anderson/ Federici.

Fed is just as good a keeper, he just needs his chance like Karacan did et al have.

Think we will have a bit of competition, especially if someone can guarantee him the no.1 shirt straight away

Ok then Camp is proven ... which means he is better than Fed. So I think next year Camp number 1 , Fed number 2

No it doesn't.

It just means that Camp has had more oppurtunities in his career than Fed at this moment in time.

W_R I disagree slightly because i'd maybe want experienced talent over just talent in a position like goal , after all you don't win anything with kids.

If only we had used this view before putting Karacan in the team..................ohh.

Look at Hart at Man City. Quality always shines through.

thanks... id wager a lot of money on it....
various reasons

1. Fed isnt very good
2. Hammer is better than him

I predict USA completes this final season. If we go up we will buy a new experienced keeper, Hammer moves up to no2. A Fed settles for 3 or more than likely moves on

1. Go ask Southend fans how good they think he is.
2. Possibly.
